The Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry (SCAI) is an independent public inquiry, established under the Inquiries Act 2005. Its remit covers the investigation of abuse of children in care and making recommendations so as to protect children in the future. The SCAI takes a trauma informed approach to all aspects of its work and is supported by an expert trauma psychologist.
SCAI’s offices and public hearings venue are in central Edinburgh.
The successful candidate will be responsible for their own projects, working under the supervision of the Head of Policy and Research. Primary responsibilities will include qualitative and quantitative analysis of information gathered by the Inquiry; report writing; production of research and policy reviews; and creation and management of research databases. This role is critical to ensure that research produced and commissioned by the Inquiry is of the highest quality and contributes to the specific aspects of the Inquiry’s terms of reference.
Candidates must have a flexible and adaptable approach to work and be available to work onsite at least 3 days per week.
