The Community Fundraising and Events Officer will be responsible for driving income generation to support the growth and sustainability of Trauma Healing Together via community fundraising initiatives. The post-holder will lead on planning, delivering, and evaluating a programme of community events, working creatively to engage individuals, volunteers, groups, and local businesses. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised fundraiser to make a tangible difference by generating the vital funds needed to expand our trauma-informed services.

ABOUT TRAUMA HEALING TOGETHER

As a charity we work closely with people who have experienced psychological trauma and are living with the symptoms of this. We work in partnership with trauma survivors to improve their quality of life through therapy, training and personal development, shaping future services and the understanding of trauma through research projects. We promote a holistic and multi-faceted approach to treating all types of psychological trauma, prioritising mutual understanding and respect of clients, staff and volunteers. RecoveryAyr are seeking to recruit a proactive and passionate Participation and Engagement Worker with a specific focus on ensuring the voices of individuals and families are collected and considered as part of ongoing service improvement activities, recognising that there is much to be gained from individuals and families with ‘lived experience’ of recovery. The post holder will also support the implementation of the Charter of Rights for People Affected by Alcohol and Drugs across South Ayrshire.

The post holder will be based with a staff team of lived experience workers, who have wide range of experience providing support for individuals and families affected by alcohol, drugs or involved with justice services.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to forge strong relationships with people and services across the city of Glasgow. Using a trauma-informed approach you will work with people of all ages and from every walk of life, supporting them in making positive changes. You will work alongside Police Scotland’s POP team and attend custody suites across the city of Glasgow to identify and help those that need support and direction.

You must be a skilled communicator who has an ability to connect with people facing a challenging range of issues. A team player, you will work closely with partners across Glasgow to achieve the right outcomes for those we are supporting. Often the people you encounter will be at a low point in their lives so you must be able to show empathy and forge a connection during that ‘reachable moment’, then back it up with the ability to create strong, trusting relationships which support people to access the help they need.

The role demands regular evening weekend work, followed up with community outreach support during the week.

We are looking for individuals who have:

• Direct experience of recovery and/or mental health issues
• Past experience of the Criminal Justice System (Please note that successful candidates will have to go through Police Vetting before being authorised access to Police Scotland Custody Suites).

It would be beneficial for applicants to have a full driving licence and access to a car satisfying the appropriate insurance requirements.

Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement for the post.

About Options Fife Continuing Care

At Aberlour we listen to understand what our young people want and need within our local area. Our Options Fife Continuing Care service in Glenrothes supports young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive within the local community.

This service will be home to 4 young people aged 16 plus who will all have their own individual flat. Our rota has been drafted to suit the needs of the young people.

What we are looking for....

We are looking for a full time (37.5 hours, working 3 x 12.5 hour shifts per week) Young People’s Worker to join our team. You will play a fundamental role in our young people’s lives to ensure that they get the best possible experience whilst working towards goals in their care plan. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical and emotional care, supporting our young people in their daily living and within the local community.

If you have an interest in working with young people, we would like to hear from you. Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ3 Care plus an HNC) together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by disability as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.
