Role
Rock Trust are delighted to be launching Live and Work West Lothian, an innovative programme providing young people with affordable shared housing and support to access employment. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Project Worker to help us implement this exciting new project. The role will involve working directly with young people to coordinate and provide emotional and practical support on a 1:1 and group basis. You will work alongside our Live and Work residents to manage the shared properties, build independent living skills, access employment opportunities and reach their goals.
The post holder will be expected to:
- Work with our Service Manager to develop the Live and Work service
- Support young people to manage and thrive in their new home
- Support young people to develop employment skills and access opportunities
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with key partners
- Work with our property team to manage our Live and Work building

Rock Trust is Scotland’s leading youth specific homelessness charity. We work with young people aged 16-25 who are at risk of, or who are experiencing homelessness. OPAL (Older People, Active Lives) works with individuals and communities to promote independence and wellbeing for people age 60+ across West Lothian. We deliver person-centred, early intervention and prevention services to keep people connected in later life. Our service aims to provide people with the tools to enable them to live independently and remain in their own homes for as long as they want to be there.
About the role
The Senior Service Coordinator leads the Service Coordinator and Service Support Assistant in the delivery of the befriending element of the OPAL service and the management of our volunteers.
As Senior Service Coordinator you will:
- Oversee all aspects of the one-to-one support element of the service
- Manage the volunteer journey including recruitment, retention and supervision
- Promote sustainable community connections through befriending, encouraging service users to continue contributing within their community
- Build a network of support to boost the continued development of the service
The role is fixed term to cover for an internal secondment.

The role of Practitioner in our women's services is vital to help us achieve our aim of ensuring, everyone has a home, a place in their community and a network of positive relationships that, support them to build the life they want.

This role will be within one of our women's accommodation services supporting women who. have experienced domestic abuse and other forms of gender-based violence and will require shift working.
About you:

About the Team
Based in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, but serving all of Scotland, our Scottish Housing Law Service is funded by the Scottish Government and Scottish Legal Aid Board. It also receives income through legal aid casework. This particular role is based at our Edinburgh office.
About the role
As a Legal Secretary, you’ll be responsible for audio and copy typing, including the typing of legal documents, often to tight deadlines. We’ll also rely on you to manage the team's diaries and assist with the running of seminars and training activities by producing training notes and publicising and administrating the courses. Dealing with telephone and written enquiries from clients, lawyers or Shelter staff, providing a reception service, sorting the post, helping to produce financial information and opening and closing files on our case management CRM system – all are aspects of this interesting and varied role.
About you
To succeed, you’ll need a demonstrable relevant background and good written and verbal communication skills, including a professional telephone manner. Experience of financial procedures would be useful, but isn’t as essential as proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, email and internet and the ability to deal confidentially and tactfully with sensitive information.
