We are looking for new staff to join our team. We are looking for candidates who have the qualities that would make them a great call handler. You might be a survivor of domestic abuse or forced marriage yourself or have other relevant experience, paid, voluntary or personal. No previous helpline experience is needed, as full training will be provided.

The ideal candidate will be:

• Empathetic and understanding to all people calling about domestic abuse and forced marriage
• Good at speaking on the phone and writing messages by email, text and webchat
• Looking for flexible working, to work around care needs, health needs or to supplement income
• Looking for shift work that can be either during office hours or outside
• Happy working from home within a confidential workspace
• Able to work with a remote but supportive team
• Precise with administration, making sure that all their records are accurate
• Committed to a feminist ethos, including anti-racist and justice-focused policies
• Able to confidently navigate IT systems, such as databases, call handling software, video conferencing and email

Clydebank Women’s aid has been providing a service to women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse since 1981. We are a small group of passionate and committed feminists who work collectively to deliver a high-quality service to the women, children, and young people that we work with.

This is a rare opportunity to work in one of Scotland’s few remaining, genuine, collectives. Supporting women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse and working to challenge patriarchal values that allow male violence to flourish.

You will be working within a Collective Management structure while also providing the essential face to face support. It is essential that applicants understand fully that this is a dual role, if employed you will be a worker and a manager in the organisation and as such are responsible (as are all other collective members) for all areas of the service.

Family Resource Worker / Collective Manager

For this varied and interesting role, we are looking for a woman who is passionate about feminism and women and children’s rights and has an ability to be adaptable and compassionate in the workplace in line with Clydebank Women’s Aid ethos. Ideally you will have some experience of support work however this is not essential as you will receive in house training and support.

What you’ll be doing

As the Family Resource Worker / Collective Manager your core responsibility will be to deliver one to one support to women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse and are living in refuge, accessing our outreach service or call in for support and advice.

You will also be responsible for the overall project management of the service alongside the other collective members.

​Articulate is looking to recruit new Trustees to support the development of the charity's strategic direction, quality assurance, risk management, fund-raising and good governance in line with our ambitious ten-year plan.

We would like to hear from any interested individuals who have the time and commitment to support our activities. In particular, we seek younger applicants and people with care experienced backgrounds and/or with education, human resources, mental health, IT or capital fundraising knowledge.

We would particularly benefit from input by people with lived experience of the care system and we'd also benefit hugely from the guidance of a Trustee from a Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic background*. ACT is committed to diversity and inclusion but at present, we have no Trustees of colour. We are very keen to address this deficit and welcome applicants from ethnically diverse communities.
