Role

Motherwell and District Woman’s Aid provides information, support and accommodation to women, children and young people who have been subjected to domestic abuse. If you can commit to upholding the rights of women, children, and young people, this may be the job for you.

We have vacancies for experienced support workers. You will work using a multi-agency, trauma informed approach and your case load will include individual and group work support.

Essential Criteria

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years work experience. Membership of the PVG scheme is an essential requirement and registered or be willing to register with SSSC. You should be qualified to a minimum of SVQ 3 in Health and Social Care.

The candidate should have experience of delivering support, advocacy and information to women experiencing domestic abuse and of working with support plans and risk assessments. You must have an understanding of the issues affecting women experiencing domestic abuse and share our commitment to feminism and equality. The Women’s Advocacy Worker may support women in a variety of settings, including outreach, refuge, and office support.

Applicants must be highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to supporting vulnerable women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse. HNC in Social care, Social Work or relevant SSSC recognised qualification (min Level 3) and experience in Support Work is required. Domestic abuse experience would be advantageous.

Car and clean driving licence is essential with evening work involved.
