Role

Carers of East Lothian is the local organisation supporting adults to continue to care for family and friends. We have an excellent reputation and have now successfully secured the contract to deliver adult carer services across East Lothian until June 2023. We are therefore now looking to recruit a number of new roles, as well as expanding our Board of Trustees.

You should have a good understanding of health and social care issues and services, experience of providing person centred support and a real commitment to supporting carers to achieve the outcomes they prioritise. You must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be comfortable in the use of IT and have the ability to organise your own workload. In return we offer a good salary, very flexible working arrangements and a chance to make a real difference to people’s lives. PVG scheme membership is essential. All of CoEL’s team work to a hybrid model, in line with our new Remote Working Policy, with the ability to work from home along with access to our offices in East Lothian Community Hospital, Haddington.

Carers of East Lothian is striving to be an equal opportunities employer and we welcome applications from all sections of the community. As a Disability Confident Committed employer, we will ensure our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible, providing reasonable adjustments as required, and as a Carer Positive Established employer, we have the policies and processes in place to ensure good support to carers, who make up the majority of our workforce.

Trustees are elected for a fixed term of three years and can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms

We are particularly keen to hear from people with experience in Campaigning / Influencing, Digital and / or Business Development.

Application notes

Closing date is Friday 17th June at midday and we expect interviews to be held on 28th and 29th June, via Zoom.
