Role

The Childcare Manager will become part of the current and well established Senior Management Team of North Edinburgh Childcare.

The ideal candidate will have a BA in Childhood Practice or currently be working towards this qualification (or already have a higher qualification). Applicants must have experience of working with children from birth to 14 years and have registered manager experience.

The role will be initially as a maternity cover post and will be to ensure the day-to-day delivery of all childcare services provided by North Edinburgh Childcare and NEC Enterprise Limited is of the highest quality and to be responsible for overall management of the early education and childcare, Out of School provision and Breakfast Clubs.

This is a Senior Management post and requires the applicant to be at a level where they have the experience to smoothly integrate into the current Senior Management Team easily and with minimum effort. They must be able to provide direct line management for a diverse childcare team at varying levels and have a proven track record of staff development. The successful applicant’s management experience must be of a minimum of between 5 and 10 years.

It is a requirement of the post that the individual will be proactive, working in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, at identifying potential future childcare services along with ensuring current capacity levels are kept to a maximum level throughout the existing services.

Whilst the hours and days shown above are contracted, as a Senior Manager it is expected that this post comes with the responsibility of out of hours working as and when necessary.

Successful applicants must hold a registrable qualification with the SSSC at manager level. They must also have significant Early Years and Out of School care experience.

Applicants must have a full clean driving licence and their own vehicle.

Full time days may be required on some In-Service Days – full salary reimbursement will be provided accordingly.

N.B. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
