Dean and Cauvin Young People’s Trust are one of Edinburgh’s oldest and established charities, providing residential group living, community, family and group work support to children, young people and families. We are committed to implementing The Promise and building strong and caring relationships with our young people to provide a scaffolding of love, care and support around them as they take their first steps towards a confident and independent future.

Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to come and join our Dean and Cauvin team as we support care-experienced young people aged 16 to 26 years, their children and families at the times that matter most as they develop into adulthood, parenthood, into a new home, college or work.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who is skilled in one to one, group and community work to support young people:

· Move on from residential living to independent life in the community

· Develop healthy relationships, connections and mental wellbeing

· Build confidence, skills and training

· Be confident and supportive parents

Successful candidates will work closely with young people to plan and create support that meets their individual needs and will lead and develop work that ensures the voices of young people are st the heart of all we do at Dean and Cauvin Young People’s Trust via issue-based group work, peer mentoring and other participation-focused approaches.

We are looking for someone who is:

· Confident and knowledgeable about the issues that can affect young people

· Passionate about upholding the rights of children and young people

· Able to build strong, honest and trusting relationships

· Determined to always do the right thing for children, young people and families

· Flexible, creative and fun

· Committed to delivering The Promise

The successful applicant will be required to register with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The minimum educational requirements for this post is SCQF Level 7.
