The Service

Working in partnership with Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust, WDP is subcontracted to deliver recovery-based services across the London Borough of Kingston.

The Kingston Wellbeing Service is an integrated drug and alcohol treatment and recovery support service that serves adult residents of the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames. Based at the Surbiton Health Centre and operating at locations across the borough, the service is high performing, ambitious and extremely well regarded by stakeholders and the local community.

The Role

We are looking to recruit the following permanent role: Outreach Practitioner (4 days per week – Monday to Friday)

This is an exciting opportunity to act as the first point of contact supporting the homeless population into treatment to address drug and alcohol needs. The post holder will work as part of the Kingston Well-Being Service and will be an integral component of our early engagement provision targeting the homeless population working closely with our local stakeholders to engage, stabilise and where necessary re-engage service users who are misusing substances but not currently actively engaging with our treatment service.

Key requirements of candidates are:

  • Passion for and understanding of working with substance misuse services or with other socially excluded or vulnerable groups.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines, record information accurately and in a timely way and to work calmly under pressure.
  • Great team working, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of or demonstrable ability to deliver a quality level of service to people with complex needs.

Location

Based at the Surbiton Health Centre and operating at locations across the London Borough of Kingston
