An exciting opportunity to work with communities on sustainable transport solutions has emerged in Dumfries & Galloway and East Ayrshire! Network 76 in Motion (N76) is a multi-year project developed together by 6 communities on or around the A76 with support from national charity Community Energy Scotland. The partnership have now confirmed funding for the first year of N76 and are looking for a locally minded, proactive and passionate individual to take on the role of N76 Project Officer!
The post will be housed within Community Energy Scotland and during the first year will focus on community consultation and capacity building; including baseline data gathering, a programme of events, and local transport plans produced with each participating community. The future funding and development of this role will be part of the work to ensure the best possible sustainable travel options in the N76 area.

Senior Technical Officer

Community Energy Scotland is recruiting for a Senior Technical Officer with experience of all aspects of technical project delivery, including scoping of technical work, writing bids and tenders, managing client relationships, overseeing and providing expert input into technical content creation, and delivering outputs on time and to budget.
The role will be part of a wider technical team that delivers the technical aspects of several of Community Energy Scotland’s projects, as well as stand-alone technical work such as feasibility studies and options appraisals. This new senior role requires an energetic, well organised self-starter.
We are particularly looking for candidates who can demonstrate experience and skills in at least two of the following areas:
- Grid assessments
- Development of 30-50MW renewable generation projects
- Non-loan financing for renewable projects
- Cost estimation for renewable generation projects
- System integration of renewable generation projects to buildings or off-grid systems

The Role of CEO:
In 2026, as EFCT celebrates its milestone 25th event and welcomes its 1,000,000th visitor, the organisation is looking to the future and seeking a visionary Chief Executive to lead its next chapter.
The new CEO will work in close partnership with the Board of Trustees to steer the long-term strategic direction of the charity, ensuring the continued success, sustainability and creative evolution of its flagship event. They will safeguard the Trust’s financial health, uphold best-practice governance, and provide strong, values-led leadership to the operations, creative, and production teams. As the public ambassador for EFCT, the CEO will build and nurture key relationships with partners, funders, local authorities, media, and the wider community—protecting the reputation of the event and amplifying its impact.
The CEO will also oversee the Trust’s community grant-giving programme, ensuring that the surplus generated by the event continues to benefit organisations across Highland Perthshire in meaningful and impactful ways. YMCA-YWCA Cupar is a local charity in North East Fife working with its communities to offer a broad range of opportunities and experiences to build confidence, encourage learning, and to enhance individuals lives and well-being.
The YMCA-YWCA offers a full weekly programme of activities – youth work, adult learning, family learning and has its own youth café facility. It works closely with locally partners to deliver activity sessions and workshops, and there’s community based one-to-one support and counselling sessions available too.
The YMCA-YWCA is a member of the YMCA international young people’s movement, which has adopted its Vision 2030. This Vision is underpinned by the key pillars of Community Wellbeing, Just Work, Meaningful Work and Sustainable Planet.
This post focuses on the development of local initiatives under the ‘Sustainable Planet’ theme. The post holder will be part of a Scotland wide project, where 8 local YMCAs will employ staff to deliver community-based climate action initiatives with children, young people, adults and families. The project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and commences in early 2026.
As the Development Worker, you will be employed by the YMCA-YWCA Cupar and based at their headquarters at Marathon House, Bonnygate, Cupar. This is a part-time post of 20 hours per week, with flexible working hours during daytime, evenings and some weekends. The post will end 30th June 2028.
You will work within a small team of staff and volunteers. Whilst there will be a real community focus for this post, you will have opportunities to develop young people and community led activities at the YMCA-YWCA and at its outreach project, at Cupar Youth Café at Castlehill.
