Established in 2018, Moray Rape Crisis provides therapeutic support, information and advocacy for children, young people and adults of all genders, aged 11 and over, in the Moray area, who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives, including rape, sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse and sexual exploitation. We also work directly with young people in schools and youth settings, and with strategic partners, towards preventing sexual violence.

We are looking for Trustees to join our dedicated Board of Trustees.

We are seeking motivated Trustees to help govern our growing and developing service in Moray.

Working to intersectional feminist values, we are seeking a diverse range of women with a commitment to the work we do across Moray. We are particularly interested in applicants with knowledge and experience of HR, finance, communications and marketing, and fundraising.

NEECS was established in 1995 to support the people of North East Edinburgh improve their mental wellbeing. We provide free and donation based one-to-one professional counselling for young people and adults who are experiencing mental health challenges.

As a member of the board, you'd be shaping our strategic vision, providing good independent judgement and making sure that everything we do is underpinned by strong governance. You'd also act as an advocate for NEECS.

Who we are:

The Hearing Voices Network Dundee (HaVeN) is a registered charity which provides a HaVeN for those who hear voices, as well as those in the community who experience mental health issues. The HaVeN is a drop-in centre as well as a community café which is based in the Hilltown area of the city, offering one to one support and a variety of groups which are run and supported by volunteers.

What we do:

The Hearing Voices Network Dundee seeks to inspire hope and promote empowerment for Voice-Hearers, their friends and families. We have a drop-in service which is open to all. No referral is needed to access the services and support that we provide. We offer support, advice, volunteering opportunities, befriending, peer2peer, training and have a community café on site. We work closely with other organisations in our community to ensure that we remain up to date and are able provide creative support solutions to our service users and the community around us.

Key responsibilities:

The Treasurer will oversee the monitoring of the organisation’s finances on behalf of the whole board of trustees, to report regularly on them to the board and to make sure that money is properly managed. They will ensure that bookkeeping, record keeping, and budgeting are done accurately. This includes:

• Ensuring proper systems are in place for budgeting, financial control, and reporting.

• Keeping all trustees properly informed about the state of the organisation’s finances.

• Ensuring financial reports to the trustees are comprehensible and properly discussed.

• Ensuring accounts and other financial reports are produced in the proper form and on time as

required by other bodies.

• Overseeing the appointment and communications with auditors or independent examiners,

according to legal requirements.

• Monitor the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources

• Oversee the charity’s financial risk-management process and report financial health.

• Act as a counter signatory for online banking and applications to funders.

The Board of trustees currently meet up to eight times per year. Our meetings are currently a mixture of in-person and virtual.

Around since 1923, SAMH is Scotland’s national mental health charity. We have represented the voice of people most affected by mental health problems in Scotland for almost 100 years. Today, in over 60 communities we work with adults and young people providing mental health social care support, services in primary care, schools and further education, among others.

These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and active living; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change. About the Role

The Hive is a SAMH service situated in the grounds of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital providing an activity centre and coffee bar for in- patients of the hospital. The Hive is a fun lively place to work, we offer a welcoming space for patients away from the wards where they can get involved in activities and social events e.g. art, clay modelling, t-shirt printing, jewellery making, creative writing, support groups, seasonal events, pilates, yoga, karaoke, quizzes and many more!

If you have creative skills that you would like to share and have some experience of mental health we would love to hear from you.

The successful candidate will assist in the day to day running of the coffee bar serving drinks, snacks, keeping the coffee bar area clean and tidy in line with food hygiene regulation. They will also be responsible for leading and encouraging patient involvement in activities in the Hive activity centre, this can be providing group work such as exercise (e.g. walking group, yoga), support groups (Hearing Voices, SMART addictions and Self Harm). They will also be expected, to provide activities and events such as arts, crafts and music groups.

The post will also involve promotional and administrative tasks. The post requires flexibility in the hours that you are available to work.

Applications are welcome from people who have experienced mental health difficulties. PVG Scheme Membership, a Right to Work in the UK check and proof of qualifications declared on the application form are required.

What we are looking for

Creative and enthusiastic person to work with our small team to ensure a welcoming environment for in-patients. Experience of mental health and associated challenges desirable. Skills and experience in one or more arts, crafts, yoga/pilates, music or support groups is essential. All Hive staff work on the coffee bar too, so a hygiene certificate is essential or willingness to work towards, training provided.
