Woodcraft Folk Scotland is an educational movement for children & young people, seeking to develop their self-confidence and promote their participation in social action, with the aim of building a world based on equality, friendship, peace and co-operation.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and suitably experienced development worker to lead activity with volunteers to build on and sustain the Woodcraft Folk groups established in Camelon and Tamfourhill over the last four years. You will lead on establishing a new group for 11-16 year olds. You will be adaptable and organised, using co-operative outdoor play and activities as a tool to attract new children and volunteers. You’ll have experience of working with and supporting volunteers together with working with children in a play or youth work setting. You’ll be able to work independently and enjoy motivating and encouraging others. You’ll have excellent communication skills and the confidence to build capacity and raise awareness of our organisation.
The post is for up to 14 hours per week, and as it will involve some evening and weekend events & meetings, the hours can be worked flexibly. Term time only working can also be considered.
