ESUB is an award-winning charity based in Edinburgh. We support families experiencing hardship by providing school uniform and other essentials so that children and young people can go to school with dignity and confidence, fitting in with their peers and ready to make the best of their education.

ESUB is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Operations Assistant to work closely with the small staff team and a busy group of volunteers. We are based in the Granton area of Edinburgh, and some travel in and around Edinburgh will be required. We welcome applications from individuals with transferable administrative and logistics skills and experience gained in a work, volunteering or personal capacity. If you genuinely have an eye for detail and are committed to superlative customer service then we would love to hear from you.

The Position:

To assist with the day to day running of the charity including:

  • Supporting outreach activities to make school uniform available in local communities in a dignified and accessible way.
  • Assisting in the provision of packs of new school uniform via referrals.

The Operations Assistant will need use of their own vehicle to travel in and around Edinburgh as part of the role. Please note that this post is not suitable for working from home.

Our Benefits:

  • Base salary up to £22,000 (pro rata) dependent on experience
  • Family-friendly working hours (16 hours per week, ideally 10am to 2pm Monday to Thursday, subject to discussion)
  • Provision of work laptop and mobile phone
  • 25 days per year annual leave plus bank holidays (pro-rata)
  • Initial 12 month contract, renewable subject to funding.

  • Basic proficiency in using Excel, Word and Email
  • High level of administration skills and logistics
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
