We are recruiting a Senior Policy Officer (Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion), to join our 3,000 strong team of dedicated staff and volunteers. You will:

  • Support the implementation of Glasgow Life EDI development plan
  • Develop strong relationships across Glasgow Life business and functional areas to improve awareness of EDI mainstreaming
  • Support further embedding Equality Impact Assessment approaches into service planning and design
  • Support service areas to develop EDI outcome-focused approaches to service design and delivery
  • Carry out research in EDI issues including under-representation in workforce and service use and report on findings to governance and leadership structures
  • Support the development of relationships with EDI stakeholder organisations and partner organisations
  • Demonstrate an understanding of current and future developments in strategic and operational EDI policy context with particular reference to mainstreaming, culture and sport provision and related areas

To be successful in this role you have the following skills and experience:

  • Knowledge and understanding of EDI theory, practice and approaches to address under-representation; power and oppression; mainstreaming; barriers and discrimination and experiences of groups with Protected Characteristics
  • Knowledge and understanding of Scottish Public Sector Equality Duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of organisational change using EDI approaches
  • Ability to engage, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders and decisionmakers at all levels
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, peers, service users, elected members, Senior Managers, External Stakeholders
  • Ability to analyse information and make appropriate informed decisions
