Role

Govan Housing Association is a community focused Registered Social Landlord based in Govan, Glasgow. The Association possesses a rich history - one of development and innovation. Founded in 1971, the Association was the first community based housing provider, leading the way for social housing provision in Scotland. After more than 50 years of operating in the housing sector, the Association now manages approximately 1,600 socially rented properties and over 600 factored properties, as well as taking an active role in the regeneration of the area. The Association is the ‘parent’ within a Group structure.

The Director of Community Enterprises is a new and exciting position that has been created following significant growth of our Group. We are looking for the right individual to become part of our Group Executive Management Team. The role will provide strategic and operational management and leadership of the Group’s two subsidiaries – the ‘Govan Home Team’ and our new ‘Water Row Company’. The Govan Home Team provides repairs and maintenance services to the Association. The Water Row Company will provide mid-market rental properties, factoring services and money advice services.

We are seeking to employ an experienced, customer focused individual to work closely and collaboratively with the Group Executive Management Team, and the Group’s governing bodies - to provide vision, leadership, strategic direction and delivery.

The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level in a relevant discipline or have equivalent business improvement experience - with a clear track record of working at a senior level within commercially successful businesses. Experience of dealing with strategic and operational partners including statutory bodies and third sector organisations, as well as community organisations and representatives, is essential.

You will have a strategic and entrepreneurial approach with the ability to bring creativity, innovation and insight into your work and the development of both subsidiaries.
