Manage our day-to-day financial operations, provide PA support to the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Trustees, and be responsible for our HR process and procedures, with support from external partnership agencies.

About the role
Forces Children Scotland is looking for someone with the expertise, passion and drive to help support change across the sector. We are looking for someone to help the charity realise its strategic vision of becoming the sector-leading charity when it comes to supporting children and young people from regular, reservist and veteran families across Scotland. We need someone with experience of developing and leading campaigns and with strengths in leading policy and influencing work. A core aspect of this role will be implementing our new co-produced approach to influencing change and realising our manifesto calls.
Our children and young people can encounter both positive and challenging experiences as part of a service family and we help them grow in confidence, develop new skills, and gain valuable experiences. We do this by co-producing projects and services to support mental health and wellbeing, education and learning, and put their unique experiences on the radar of civilian audiences. We provide life-changing experiences that forge new friendships and help develop a sense of belonging. We listen and provide financial help in lots of different ways and support those caring for loved ones or a member of the local community as well as those gaining qualifications at college or university.
You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, deputising as required, as well as ensuring external policy direction and research influences our work internally within Forces Children Scotland. You will champion our work and maximise its impact by sharing knowledge across organisational functions, our communication channels and externally with strategic partners, government, and professional sectors.
About the person we are looking for
To apply for this role, you will need to hold a professional qualification and/or have significant experience in a relevant field, such as health, education, social care. In addition, you will need a minimum of eight years’ experience in working within the children and young people’s sector in a multi-agency capacity. You will need to evidence strong experience of bringing about change through influencing and campaigning, across multiple sectors related to children and young people. Our ideal candidate will also have experience of establishing and leading cross sector partnerships and translating strategy and policy into practice, based on research evidence including data analysis and voices of lived experience. You will also need to have experience of working with academic establishments across the UK and beyond in commissioning and disseminating research/reports as well as significant experience of working with and influencing Scottish and/or UK Government and policy. Furthermore, you will need to possess experience of managing staff. The role will also require a strong breadth of experience in the fields of mental health and wellbeing and/or education.
Regional Manager, Dundee and Perth & Kinross

After being with us for over five years, our current Dundee and Perth & Kinross Regional Manager is relocating to England in November 2023 to be closer to family. As a passionate, experienced professional in the identification, creation and management of a wide range of great partner relationships, you will ensure the Career Ready programme in Dundee City and Perth & Kinross continues to thrive across 8 schools in Dundee and 9 in Perth & Kinross.

Leading our work involves growing, developing and maintaining the brilliant employer and education partnerships that deliver the Career Ready programme, which includes the Local Advisory Board, the Local Authorities (key sponsors), schools (we have a Career Ready coordinator in each school), the Developing the Young Workforce Regional Group, and the many employer organisations and their people who volunteer as mentors, provide quality paid internships and deliver engaging masterclasses.
By assimilating what, why, when and the how of our work, you will be able to:
Lead and develop our Career Ready partnerships in Dundee and Perth & Kinross, optimising the programme experience for all stakeholders and securing ongoing or new employer support for the growing number of students each year (c.64 in Dundee and 50 in Perth & Kinross) who participate in the 18-month long Career Ready programme annually.
Lead programme delivery, stakeholder engagement and business development by working closely with the Career Ready Dundee and Perth & Kinross Local Advisory Board; Leanna Sinclair, Partnerships Development; Janine McFarland, Head of Programme & Operations; and the Career Ready Regional Manager and Scotland Operations team on a continuous improvement agenda that is focused on quality, impact and sustainability underpinned by attention to detail with efficient and effective processes.

Background to post
PlayPeace SCIO recently secured Carer Breather funding to enable the creation of this post. PlayPeace supports families of children and young people with additional support needs to have fun, form friendships and be supported through a range of opportunities and services.
Purpose of Post
The postholder will have lead responsibility for the planning, delivery and evaluation of the “PlayPeace Cares” project funded through the Carer Breather strand of the national Health and Social Care budget. The project recognises the significant pressures on parent carers, and seeks to mitigate these by providing opportunities for short breaks that are flexible and meet the needs of parents and other carers of children and young people with additional support needs.
The Development worker will build on the existing project plan, to deliver and further develop the programme of supports, working in close partnership with relevant organisations locally.
Reporting
This postholder will report to the Chief Executive Officer of PlayPeace, currently the sole employee. Over time reporting line may be subject to change should additional capacity be brought into the organisation.

We are looking for a new treasurer to help lead the charity through a new phase of development which will see greater stability, increased capacity and new services to better support those who need our services.
We are pleased to report that recently secured funding from the Tudor Trust, National Lottery Community Fund, and the Scottish Government’s Victim at the Centre Fund has effectively tripled AMIS’s turnover, and potential impact, for the next three years.
As an expanding organization we have engaged with the Cranfield Trust to help us bring additional skills and expertise to the board; building our team to meet the demands of our new situation.
Ths is an exciting time for a new treasurer to join a committed team, and guide our new projects to maximise the very real difference AMIS can make to the lives of men across Scotland who experience domesic or partner abuse, and to their families.
The successful candidate will ideally be familiar with XERO and charity sector accounting.
Remuneration
The role of treasurer is a voluntary position although reasonable expenses for travel, etc, may be claimed.

Time commitment
Currently eight or nine board meetings per year (including an AGM). The next AGM will take place in December 2023. The treasurer is expected to communicate regularly with the CEO and is responsible for:
• controlling and accounting for the organisation’s finances
• issuing receipts for cash received, keeping records of cash paid out, and being a counter signatory to any major banking transaction
• overseeing bookkeeping
• presenting financial reports, raising issues and answering questions at regular meetings and the AGM
• liaising with the auditors or financial examiners for the annual review of accounts
• ensuring statutory returns are made to any relevant regulators
About AMIS
Founded in 2010, AMIS provides Scotland’s only national specialist helpline, involving longer-term casework if needed, for men experiencing domestic or partner abuse. We support individuals aged 16+ who identify as men, and anyone with concerns about such men. AMIS also provides training for other services wishing to learn more about supporting male victims, and engages with policy makers to highlight the need for support provision for all victims and survivors of domestic abuse in Scotland.
AMIS currently employs one full-time and two part-time members of staff. We are utilizing our recently secured funding to recruit new staff members (2.2 FTE equivalent) to increase helpline capacity, launch a new community based support project and increase advocacy work.
