West Lothian Youth Action Project, in partnership with Almond Housing Association, is currently recruiting for a Community Gardener, as part of a small team to drive forward phase two of the ‘Growing Together Project’ in Craigshill, Livingston, West Lothian.
Funding has been secured through the Scottish Government Investing in Communities Fund to continue the development of Growing Together: initially a Community Growing Project to support the Craigshill community to proactively tackle food poverty in a dignified and holistic way. This continues to remain a key focus of the work, this post will allow the right candidate an exciting opportunity to expand the project, inspiring and engaging community members and volunteers to build on the amazing work that has already been created.
We are currently seeking a gardener who is experienced in community growing, passionate about engaging local people and keen to provide much needed support to the development of our community gardens and community spaces. We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team, with practical experience of community based, hands on work in a similar environment. Self-motivated, empathetic, and with strong communication and training skills you will initially be employed until end of March 2025
