GAMH are commissioned by Glasgow Carers Partnership to deliver support to unpaid Carers living within the North East of the city. Our service offers inclusive and holistic support to Carers to help maintain their quality of life and improve their health and wellbeing.

We are seeking a Family Support Worker to join our team in our GAMH North East Carers Service. The primary focus of this post will be to work with unpaid Carers and Young Carers delivering a range of supports that enable Carers to manage their caring responsibilities while maintaining their own health and wellbeing.

As a Family Support Worker you will be providing practical and emotional support working collaboratively with Carers and their families and partner organisations to ensure Carers have access to appropriate information, resources and opportunities.

All applicants must be able to work flexibly; early morning, evening and weekend working may be required.

This is a great opportunity for a new Participatory Practice Manager. This is a key role in leading the development and delivery of participatory, community-led and anti-racist practices within a university museum context.

Kingdom Abuse Survivors Project (KASP) are looking to recruit a Manager to lead our established and dedicated team in providing a range of counselling and support for survivors of childhood sexual abuse who live in the Fife area.

The post holder will work closely with, and report to the Board of Trustees to lead on the development, delivery and evaluation of existing and new services. The post will involve: –

  • Working with a range of stakeholders to improve the identification of, and responses to, the impact of childhood sexual abuse.
  • Applying and reporting to a variety of funders as required.
  • Organisation management of the service delivery staff, both paid and voluntary, including counsellors, response workers, befrienders, sessional workers, finance and administration staff.

This role is pivotal in the success of our mission and ambition to support survivors in leading a full, meaningful and inclusive life.

We are looking for someone who is collaborative and forward thinking in their approach, has excellent inter-personal skills, is able to adapt quickly to change and has the ability to work at a strategic level. Applicants will be able to demonstrate the following: –

  • Current or former experience of managing/leading a team.
  • Qualified to Diploma Level in Counselling.
  • Experience of working in a trauma informed manner.
  • Experience of budget management and evaluating resources.
  • A clear understanding of the need to build and sustain partnerships with stakeholders and other third sector providers.
  • The ability to lead our business strategy at a local level whilst promoting KASP.
  • Registration with a recognised counselling body such as COSCA or BACP (advantageous)
  • Experience of providing support and supervision to counsellors (advantageous)
  • Experience of working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse (advantageous)

How you’ll contribute to our mission

Undertake project and programme analysis activities related to the delivery of digital and IT projects in support of the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland’s (RZSS) vision and mission.

This is a Fixed term, Full time role (37.5 hours per week usually Monday - Friday), expected to last for 6months, will be based at Edinburgh Zoo but includes some travel to Highland Wildlife Park

Some of the things you’ll do:

  • Assists and contributes to the delivery of digital and IT projects, being primarily focused on a programme of works and projects to migrate the charity to the cloud
  • Liaises with staff in department teams to understand their current processes and operations, and delivers solutions in line with the projects/programmes required outcomes and success criteria
  • Conducts analysis of existing processes and user requirements using various techniques including workshops, 1-2-1 interviews, and surveys from business stakeholders to define the scope and use cases for the cloud migration programme
  • Contributes to the preparation, co-ordination and execution of cloud migration project tasks
  • Monitors progress and outcomes of key project/programme processes, reporting success and failures promptly to stakeholders
  • May act as the primary point of contact for internal queries related to projects/programmes being undertaken

What we’re looking for:

  • Degree level or equivalent level IT qualification or experience
  • Understanding and co-ordination of activities to define and monitor project/programme scope
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues throughout RZSS and with third party partners and suppliers
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail with a structured approach to tasks
  • Previous experience of project delivery in a large organisation, across multiple disciplines and departments
  • Experience using Microsoft office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Associate Director of Clinical Services

Freedom from Torture has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Director of Clinical Services (Clinical Operations) to join our team. This role will provide strategic and operational leadership across our Northwest and Scotland clinical services, while supporting quality improvement and the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality rehabilitation services for survivors of torture. The role will require regular travel between our Northwest and Scotland centres and occasional travel elsewhere in the UK as required.

About us

Freedom from Torture is an established charity that has been supporting survivors of torture for over 35 years and has a dedicated donor base. We are committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based interventions for people who have survived torture. We provide therapies to improve physical and mental health, medically document torture, and offer legal and welfare support. Our clinical model has been co-designed with survivors of torture and includes a range of interventions, including trauma-focused therapy, psychotherapy, family and couple systemic psychotherapy, group work, pain management and health assessment.

In addition to our treatment services, we expose torture globally, campaign for the rights of survivors and work to hold torturing states to account. We use evidence from our services and survivor voices to influence national and international change, placing survivors at the centre of everything we do.

Our current strategy seeks to increase access to rehabilitation services for survivors of torture, strengthen our clinical excellence through research, and explore innovative models of service delivery that enable us to reach more people in need. This includes piloting new approaches to service delivery and developing partnerships that help sustain and expand our impact. We undertake our work under our four core values of Hope, Compassion, Empowerment and Resolve. About the role

This is a key leadership role within Freedom from Torture and reports to the National Director of Clinical Services, deputising when required. The role will have a strong focus on ensuring safe and effective clinical operations, including oversight of clinical governance, clinical risk management, safeguarding, health and safety, quality assurance and audit activity.

An important aspect of the role will be supporting innovation and growth, including developing external partnerships, contributing to the piloting of new service models in Scotland, and working with colleagues in fundraising to identify grant, commissioning and partnership opportunities that support the sustainability of clinical services.

The role works closely with colleagues across clinical services, survivor empowerment, fundraising and organisational leadership to ensure effective collaboration and delivery of organisational objectives.
