Tiphereth Camphill in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced and creative Administrator to join our community. We provide a range of support services for adults with learning disabilities and autism, with a focus on building meaningful relationships and community.

You will play a key role in our busy office being the first point of contact, in person, on the phone and by email. You will act as a key interface between our staff, members, parents and carers, other organisations and the wider community. Hospitality and preparation for events plays a large part in the role.

Our ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude coupled with experience of working in a busy office environment. Most of all you will have a flexible and adaptable personality with a willingness to work as part of a team, and embrace working in a vibrant community setting that values each person equally.

The role is varied and includes coordinating and supporting meetings, training, events and exhibitions as well as general cleaning and facility management, maintaining stock of office essentials.

Primarily based within our community at Tiphereth, the role may require off site working at times. On occasions evening and weekend work out with normal hours to support community events.

Ideally you will have a minimum of two years’ experience in a similar setting.

Deaf Action is a Deaf-led charity, supporting and celebrating Deaf people. We were established in 1835 and work with Deaf people across Scotland and the South of England. Our Finance Team plays a vital role in supporting the organisation’s sustainability and impact. We are now looking for a Credit Controller to take ownership of our credit control processes and support effective financial operations across the charity.

About you

You will have previous experience in credit control or accounts receivable and be confident managing your own workload. You’ll be someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers. You will be highly organised, with the ability to identify and address issues early, and take a solution-focused approach to your work. A good working knowledge of finance systems and Microsoft Office is essential.

Experience within a charity setting is desirable but not essential.

The role

As the sole Credit Controller, you will take full ownership of the credit control function, ensuring invoices are issued accurately, payments are collected promptly, and queries are resolved efficiently.

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Deputy Manager to help oversee our holiday support service and develop improvements across our organisation.

The Role

You will support the Children’s Services Manager in leading the day-to-day operations of the Holiday Support Service, providing direction to a team of Support Workers while liaising with parents & carers to maintain and review Personal Support Plans for each child.

During term-time, this post will involve additional duties in the delivery of our core services.

You will:

  • Support the delivery of service in line with standards set by regulatory bodies (Care Inspectorate and SSSC)
  • Support the engagement of children in creative play and the management of suitable activity plans for the different ages/stages of development and interests of children
  • Provide effective support and direction to a team of support workers through motivation, supervision, and feedback
  • Support the Children’s Services Manager to ensure compliance across the service and ensure the team receive training and guidance appropriate to their role

About You

We are looking for a Deputy Manager who is inspired by our ethos and is excited to bring their knowledge and experience to our specialised Holiday Support Service for children with complex medical needs.

  • Supervisory experience, including direct staff supervision, development and implementation of rotas
  • Knowledge and experience of facilitating indoor and outdoor play opportunities and environments and leading recreational activities
  • Experience of working with children and young people with a range of disabilities
  • Excellent organisational skills and administrative abilities

Desirable:

  • Leaderships skills and team building capacity
  • Previous experience of improvement work within a childcare setting
  • First Aid at Work certificate
  • Experience of Moving and Handling, delivering personal care and supporting complex medical needs

  • Confident and able to provide advice and follow-up support
  • Organised and digitally confident, with strong communication and record keeping skills
  • Committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and removing barriers for marginalised groups
  • Able to work flexibly across different settings to meet people’s needs
  • Experience of giving energy advice would be an advantage but don’t worry if not, we will support you to complete City & Guilds Level 3 -Energy Awareness (if not already held).
  • A full driving licence and access to a car (or ability to meet the role’s travel requirements in another way) is needed.

Our relief workers play a crucial role in supporting our team. This work is offered on a casual, hourly paid basis to provide cover during staff absence and/or particularly busy periods. Shifts are worked on a residential rota and can be 2pm - 10pm, 7.30am - 2.30pm, 10pm - 7.30am. Within those hours there can be a variety of shifts required, eg 7.30am – 11am or 4.30pm – 8.30pm.

Ideally, you will have experience of direct work with children and families and/or experience of working with children or adults with a learning disability and/or an autism spectrum condition.

What we are looking for....

As a Young People’s Worker, you will play a fundamental role in our young people’s lives to ensure that they get the best possible experience whilst working towards goals in their care plan. Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical and emotional care; supporting our young people in their daily living and within the local community.

These hours will be worked as part of a 24/7 residential rota, which will include morning shifts of 7am until 3pm, evening shifts of 3pm until 10pm, weekends and public holidays. You will also be expected to do sleepovers from 9am until 9am.

Ideally candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) plus an HNC) together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by disability as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.
