The Role
As Chief Executive Officer, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for SUSE, ensuring the organisation continues to grow its impact, influence and effectiveness.

• lead the delivery of SUSE’s three year development plan, focused on driving quality and choice in the supported employment sector
• be accountable for organisational performance, financial management and reporting to funders
• lead, support and inspire the staff team
• work closely with the Board, members, partners and employers
• champion supported employment nationally as a proven, effective model

• oversee the adoption of the SUSE Supported Employment Quality Standard
• support the continued development of the Professional Development Award in Supported Employment

As part of the next phase of our Rivers Project, we are recruiting for a Catchment Restoration Development Officer.
Background
Sustaining Dunbar, in partnership with Forth Rivers Trust (FRT), has secured development phase funding to prepare detailed, shovel-ready nature restoration plans for the Dry Burn and Spott Burn catchments in East Lammermuir. This project is part of a wider, long-term ambition to deliver landscape-scale nature recovery across East Lammermuir from summit to sea.
The development phase will identify and design a portfolio of restoration interventions — riparian tree planting, natural flood management measures, habitat connectivity improvements, and invasive species control — working across approximately 22 landholdings in the two catchments. The technical design work will be led by FRT. The role of this post is to make that technical work possible: by building the relationships with landowners and land managers that underpin it, and by coordinating the programme so that individual work packages fit together coherently across land boundaries.
Purpose of the Role
To coordinate this next phase of the project and act as the primary point of contact for landowners and land managers across the Dry Burn and Spott Burn catchments, building the trust and relationships necessary to develop coherent, spatially connected restoration work packages, and to coordinate these with Forth Rivers Trust so as to develop a portfolio of credible and fundable habitat enhancement and restoration projects.

We are recruiting a Childminding Development Officer to help us expand the childminding workforce across Scotland and support the delivery of school age childcare placements with childminders.
The Scottish Childminding Association (SCMA) is the national voice of childminding in Scotland. SCMA is a national Third Sector and membership organisation that promotes childminding as a quality childcare service. Working on behalf of its 2,500 childminder members, SCMA helps to improve the wellbeing and outcomes for Scotland’s children and aims to influence policy to ensure that it is informed by the experiences of childminding. SCMA provides a wide range of support and professional services for members including training and events as well as delivering local services. The successful applicant will work to support potential new childminders by delivering a childminding recruitment model in targeted local authority areas and by setting up funded placements for school age children. You will work closely with the Childminding Liaison Officer and Area Manager and recruitment team, using SCMA’s successful childminding specific models of recruitment and placements, with the aim of increasing the number of childminders across Scotland and the number of children accessing placements with childminders.
The postholder is required to have proven ability to prioritise work and forward plan. Enthusiasm, self-motivation, good communication and excellent organisational skills are required.

This is a really exciting time to join Girlguiding Scotland. With nearly 40,000 young members we are the largest charity for girls and young women in Scotland. We’ve been around for over 100 years and have much to be proud of in that rich and vibrant history, but we know that to remain exciting and relevant to young people we must continually evolve.
The overall purpose of the role is:
We’re looking for a collaborative and supportive youth leadership development officer to help disadvantaged girls and young women to build leadership skills and confidence through Girlguiding Scotland’s community-based youthwork opportunities. This role is a maternity cover until end of March 2027.
This role is funded through the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Communities programme as part of the Location CashBack project. This project is delivered in partnership with consortium partners from Youth Scotland, Boys Brigade in Scotland and Scouts Scotland. From April 2026 to March 2027 this work will be focused on working with Girlguiding members in deprived communities in Glasgow, Inverclyde and Renfrewshire.
We’re looking for someone who can build strong relationships quickly and who is comfortable working independently, as well as working as part of the team of staff and volunteers at a Scottish level.
They’ll need to have strong facilitation and communication skills, be comfortable delivering training and youthwork activities and experienced in gathering and using data to inform the direction of their work. They’ll need to possess a high degree of motivation, innovation, and creativity to engage volunteers in target areas and meet the project targets.
In the role they will develop and deliver a programme of over 400 leadership development opportunities for disadvantaged young people (aged 10-25) using Girlguiding’s programme of activities, awards and qualifications.
Location:This is a home-based role although regular travel to meet with volunteers, young people and other stakeholders in project areas in the evenings and weekends will be expected. This may involve overnight stays. You will be required to regularly work evenings and weekends, for which TOIL will be given. We do not pay overtime. You will also be required to attend monthly meetings at our office in Edinburgh.
