Kinloch Historical Society is looking for an ambitious, practical and community-minded Business Development Manager to help us build a strong and sustainable future for our Society and Kinloch Community Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in developing new income streams, increasing use of our facilities, growing our visitor and tourism offer, developing partnerships and helping us realise the potential of our unique heritage and archive.
Working closely with our Board, community, volunteers and external partners, you will develop and implement a Growth Plan designed to strengthen the Society's long-term financial and organisational sustainability while delivering meaningful benefits for the Kinloch community.
The opportunity
Over the next three years, we want to:
We are looking for someone who can combine commercial thinking with community purpose – someone who can spot an opportunity, build the relationships needed to develop it and then turn a good idea into practical action.
About You
Above all, we are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, proactive, collaborative and motivated by making a difference.
Since 1996, Foundation Scotland has distributed significant funding to charities and community groups across the country, creating happier, fairer and more sustainable communities. We support philanthropists to help their personal giving make the most difference, work with donors to invest in community action, and work alongside communities to ensure that local funds are distributed by communities themselves. We also offer social investment opportunities to enable social enterprises, community organisations and charities to grow and deliver positive social impact. For a quick introduction to how we make a difference, watch our animation.
Foundation Scotland is looking for an interim Grants Assessor to join us on a six month fixed term contract. In this role, you’ll review grant applications from charities and community organisations, explore the evidence behind each proposal and assess whether projects are well planned, financially sound and capable of creating meaningful impact.
You’ll balance careful analysis with clear communication, spend time examining budgets, governance and safeguarding information, speaking with applicants where further detail is needed, and producing concise assessment reports. Your evidence based recommendations will help ensure funding decisions are fair, consistent and focused on the needs of communities.
About the role
What you’ll bring
More information about the role can be found in the Grants Assessor Role.pdf profile.
If you are motivated by purposeful work and enjoy turning complex information into balanced decisions, we’d love to hear from you.
Please note, this is a six-month fixed-term contract position.
We can be flexible on hours and working pattern so please speak to us about what might suit you best.
We're looking for a versatile and enthusiastic individual to join our small team. Around half of their time will be spent supporting the smooth facilitation of music sessions and events with children and adults. The other half will be spent supporting the operational side of the organisation, with a particular focus on admin and social media tasks. Whether they’re carrying a keyboard into a room or setting up refreshments, engaging with a quiet participant, keeping track of attendance, or crafting the perfect Instagram reel to showcase our impact, the successful candidate will be an important part of the organisation's overall impact and sustainability, and they will be the first point of contact for the organisation for many of our participants and partners.
Regardless of their former educational or professional experiences and outcomes, we are looking for someone who can learn with direction and guidance, isn’t afraid to ask questions when they are uncertain, and can progress to taking ownership over their schedule and workload over their time with the organisation.
We recognise that the charity and third sector do not always reflect the communities they support. We are committed to creating an inclusive workforce that reflects our local community. Applications from candidates from lower socio-economic backgrounds, those with lived experience of the care system, and Black and racially minoritised individuals are especially welcomed.
Why work with us?
