We love what we do here and are looking to recruit a Care and Support Manager for our Wallace Court Service. Wallace Court provides 24 hour residential and respite support, 7 days a week, to customers aged between 18 and 65 with physical and learning disabilities.

Job Purpose:

Working alongside the Service Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day leadership of the service while helping to drive forward improvements in care quality, consistency and outcomes.

You’ll support and develop our Team Leaders, strengthen oversight of care and support, and help ensure that what we deliver is not only safe and effective, but genuinely person-centred.

A key part of the role will be working with colleagues and professionals to ensure that people’s needs are fully understood, clearly evidenced and appropriately supported. This is a role where you can bring people together, build confidence in the service, and help shape how support is delivered.

Main Activities

  1. Provide management support and direction to Team Leader and/or staff in their delivery of Care and Support to customers
  2. Support the Service Manager, Team Leader and staff in meeting the requirements of organisational policy and procedure
  3. Meet Regulatory Requirements (e.g. Care Inspectorate, SSSC)
  4. Identify, quantify, and direct Customer requirements through their individualised budgets and costed support plans
  5. Undertake Investigations and Risk Assessments
  6. Manage Budgetary and Financial Controls, including SDS, ILF and Personalised Budgets and Care Plans that result thereof.
  7. Service Promotion and Development
  8. This role may also include:

- 8.1.Prescribed duties and responsibilities of the Service Manager delegated down to the Care and Support Manager.

-8.2.Deputise in the absence of the Service Manager

Parents for Future Scotland became a charity 2 years ago as a result of grassroots parent organising and are now a small staff team with a growing network of activists. We are seeking to make climate action the norm among all parents in Scotland. We are in the midst of a big step change, increasing our influence and reach across the country, and we need you to help us in doing that. This post will be the first of its kind within the organisation.

Main tasks

  • Supporting the set up of infrastructure for the organisation (a domain name, ensuring everyone can access key packages such as canva etc)
  • Ensuring all self-employed staff have equipment that they need and putting processes into place to support the management of this
  • Researching office spaces available for the team with a good understanding of what the team needs and booking the office space. Supporting the move to a new office space.
  • Ensuring all self-employed staff are paid monthly and that finance systems are updated. Inducting staff in our finance system (Quick Books)
  • Checking spend against projected spend across multiple funds regularly and updating the CEO/programme staff where required.
  • Ensuring key documents are saved in relevant places for funding, publicity and governance.
  • Researching and supporting a move to paid and permanent staff through working with the programme manager
  • Undertaking the GDPR audit for the organisation and ensuring that we are compliant at all times.
  • Checking on policies/procedures and ensuring that all are up-to-date
  • Supporting with the sign-up of new members to PfFS, sending welcome messages and arranging times for programme staff to speak to them
  • Being an active participant in our WhatsApp channel where we manage members to help share information and ensure that members are communicating appropriately
  • Supporting and co-ordinating posts on socials so that teams are taking it in turns.
  • Supporting volunteers to access resources and setting up infrastructure to ensure it’s easy to volunteer within the organisation. Take notes at team meetings and lead sessions / present at team meetings on key topics where information needs to be exchanged or the team requires training.
  • Compile a monthly or quarterly newsletter by co-ordinating team contributions and creating something on canva.
  • Support the CEO with any tasks needed

Logistics

The North Lanarkshire Alcohol and Other Drugs Crisis Outreach Service, provides support to individuals who are over the age of 16. The service model is based on The Overdose response Teams, (please see our website for indigo house report).

The service has 3 main parts of delivery these are:

  • Overdose response (the team respond to individuals who have had or are at risk of overdose within 24-48 hours of notification).
  • Assertive outreach (we “meet people where they are at” ensuring they have access to the support and services they require).
  • Crisis response (a partnership with housing colleagues to work with anyone at risk of or experiencing homelessness).

The support we provide is always person centred, we do this by involving people who know the person well, this includes family and friends, other health and Social Work professionals, Advocacy services and our own staff members.

Our Support Services

Job Purpose

The Support Worker role is to support and engage with people to manage and recover their mental health, in line with our trauma-informed approach. You will help people with safer substance use and assist them with the process when they choose to stop. You will assist our people to build a positive network of connections to enable them to gain and sustain their own housing.

As a Support Worker, you will provide work alongside people impacted by homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges and trauma. You will provide guidance and assistance to the people we support to achieve their goals of securing safe housing and accessing the necessary support to feel secure, manage their challenges and live an independent life free from harm or abuse.

Supported Accommodation services in North Lanarkshire operate on a 24-hour basis to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone we support. Continuous cover is provided through a rolling rota, and staff are expected to work flexibly across this rota, which includes day shifts, late shifts, waking night shifts. 2 of our services are covered by nightly sleepovers. This ensures that support is always available when needed. Staff play a key role in maintaining a safe and supportive environment, responding appropriately to incidents or emergencies, and providing reassurance and practical support at all times. This 24-hour model enables consistent, person-centred support, promotes stability within the service, and ensures that the needs of individuals are met both during the day and overnight, in line with safeguarding responsibilities and organisational policies.

The shift patterns are 5 days over 7, day shift 8-4, Late shift 1-9 Nightshift 9pm-8am sleepover 12pm-2pm the following day. Although you may be initially based at a service, you could be moved to another service to ensure we meet the needs of service delivery.

You will be passionate about supporting and changing expectations and experiences of people we support, many of whom have experienced significant trauma, exclusion and stigma.

As a Support Worker in homelessness services, you'll be instrumental in empowering individuals affected by homelessness, addiction, challenging mental health and trauma. You'll provide compassionate, person-centred support, guiding them towards securing safe and stable housing and developing tools to manage their challenges. Your role is vital in helping people access essential resources, build resilience, and ultimately live a life free from harm and abuse.

As part of our Team, you will be at the forefront of supporting people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies in a supportive environment. The role involves providing both practical and emotional support, helping individuals to secure accommodation, access benefits, and connect with a wide range of health, wellbeing, and advocacy services.

Our team builds strong professional relationships with local authorities, support providers, and other external partners to ensure our support is coordinated and effective. You will adopt a harm reduction approach, providing advice and Naloxone trained as needed.

About the Service

As a Resilience Outreach Worker, you will play a key role in delivering support as part of an innovative partnership between Change Mental Health and Kingdom Housing Association (KHA).

This service is designed to provide targeted mental health and wellbeing support to KHA tenants, helping individuals to build emotional, psychological and behavioural resilience. Through tailored one-to-one support and group interventions, you will support tenants to identify personal goals, develop coping strategies, and access community resources that promote recovery, wellbeing and tenancy sustainment.

A key focus of the role is supporting individuals to manage tenancy-related challenges, improve emotional resilience, and maintain independent living within their communities. The service is rooted in trauma-informed, person-centred practice and aligns with the National Health and Wellbeing Outcomes.

You will work closely with KHA staff as part of a collaborative, partnership-based approach, embedding mental health support within housing services. This includes responding to referrals, supporting early intervention and crisis prevention, and contributing to improved outcomes for tenants.

You will be part of a forward-thinking, collaborative team committed to innovation in mental health and housing support. Working autonomously, you will manage your own caseload, using sound judgment to determine when to escalate or refer to your manager. You will also contribute to identifying service gaps and co-developing solutions to meet the evolving needs of tenants and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to individuals, managing a caseload and developing tailored support plans aligned with National Health and Wellbeing outcomes.
  • Facilitate group sessions and workshops.
  • Compile and review service user development plans, ensuring outcomes are being achieved.
  • Deliver support in a variety of settings, including individuals’ homes, community spaces, and within KHA offices.
  • Work as part of the KHA Tenancy Support Service (TSS) team, offering targeted mental, emotional, and behavioural resilience support to KHA tenants.
  • Collaborate with the Team Lead and Head of Service to meet strategic goals and funder requirements.
  • Identify community service gaps and collaborate with your manager to develop solutions, working independently with sound judgment and initiative.
  • Build positive working relationships with local partners to better support service users and promote the work of Change Mental Health.

General Duties:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring confidentiality is upheld for all individuals using the service.
  • Collate relevant information and prepare reports for line management as required.
  • Ensure continuity of service delivery in line with Change Mental Health’s values and strategic outcomes.
  • Oversee and support the fulfilment of Health and Safety responsibilities within practice settings, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards.
  • Act in accordance with GDPR legislation, ensuring all personal, staff, and client data is managed in line with Data Management and Information Governance policies.
  • Comply with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, including the provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Adhere to the charity’s Health & Safety and Safeguarding policies, promptly reporting any concerns to your line manager.
  • Participate in regular supervision and appraisal and undertake relevant training and development activities appropriate to the role.
  • Work in accordance with the charity’s national policies, local operating procedures, and the standards of external regulators or professional bodies.

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to SVQ 3 level or have experience working in mental health
  • Must have access to a vehicle and hold a valid driving licence, with the ability to travel independently across locations as required
  • Understand the need for a compassionate, non-judgemental approach to supporting people
  • Ability to work well in a team setting whilst also working autonomously
  • A sound theory base of social care interventions including risk assessments
  • A value base consistent with the aims and objectives of Change Mental Health
  • Ability to apply an analytical approach to problems in order to find solutions
  • Competency in planning and reviewing development plans and the ability to take appropriate action if needed
  • I.T skills are of a good standard
  • A sound knowledge of Health and Social care policy in Scotland and ability to apply this to the role
  • Keen to develop your knowledge and skills and attend training as required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experienced in delivering a Registered Service and meeting Care Inspectorate requirements
