Richmond’s Hope was founded in 2003 in the Craigmillar area of Edinburgh and is a charity that supports children and young people aged 4-18 who have experienced a bereavement. We offer tailored one-to-one support for children and young people once a week for an average of 12 weeks. Children and young people are seen in A neutral space which is adaptable for each age and stage of development. The children who come to Richmond’s Hope have experienced the bereavement of a significant person in their life that has significantly impacted their physical and mental health.

The successful candidate for this position should have experience of working in childcare, education, health, playwork or another relevant discipline.

Richmond’s Hope will provide a comprehensive induction and training programme in preparation for starting work with bereaved young people at Richmond’s Hope.

This role will be part of our wider team at Richmond’s Hope, the Therapeutic Grief Practitioner (Community Outreach) will provide direct bereavement support to children and young people aged 4–18 years across Fife through outreach delivery in schools, community settings, family wellbeing hubs, and other appropriate locations. The postholder will provide practical and emotional support to parents and carers while also offering guidance to help them support grieving children. The role will include developing peer support opportunities for parents and carers and older siblings, such as coffee mornings and informal group sessions

Applicants should have enthusiasm and vision for the work of the organisation, excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.

Director of Income Generation and Communications

We are seeking a collaborative, proactive, and adaptable Director of Income Generation and Communications to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an empowering and inspiring leader to help grow income and ensure that people affected by cancer across Ayrshire continue to receive the free practical and emotional support that means so much to individuals and families in our communities.

Reporting to our Chief Executive, you will lead and support our Income Generation and Communications Team and hold overall responsibility for our fundraising, retail and communications operation, developing and delivering strategies that grow awareness and sustainable income, by strengthening engagement with supporters, partners, beneficiaries, and the wider community. The postholder will provide leadership across fundraising and retail, driving an integrated approach to income generation, events, supporter engagement, and communications. You will ensure compelling impact-led messaging that strengthens donor understanding and encourages long-term, committed giving.

This is a full-time, on-site role working 35 hours per week, with some evening and weekend working expected to support events, campaigns, retail activity, and key charity activities. The salary for the role will range between £48,000 and £54,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

  • Strong experience of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, management accounts and financial controls.
  • Experience of managing organisational financial performance and supporting long term sustainability.
  • Knowledge of financial governance, audit, compliance, risk management and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience of commercial modelling, costing, pricing or profitability analysis.
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders, contracts or new business opportunities.
  • The ability to identify and support sustainable income generation and organisational growth opportunities.
  • The ability to analyse complex financial and operational data, driving insight led decisions and improvement.

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience of working within a charity, social enterprise or 3rd sector organisation.

AAFDA is a growing charity, and we are looking for a specialist Children’s Advocate to be based in Scotland. Although home based, travel will be required across Scotland. We welcome applications from candidates who are registered social workers and who have professional experience of working with people who have experienced domestic abuse.

We are also committed to diversity and strongly encourage applications from those with Black and/or Minoritised backgrounds.

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Scotland is expected to introduce Domestic Homicide and Suicide Reviews (DHSRs) in April 2026. We are looking for a candidate with a good understanding of the Scottish legislative system and good understanding around domestic abuse and how it impacts on children to join our growing charity. Each year, in Scotland, around 25 families lose a loved one to fatal domestic abuse, perhaps one third of this number being domestic homicides and the others being suicides following domestic abuse. The actual number of domestic abuse related suicides remains unknown.

Many of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. The Children’s advocate will provide expert advocacy, specialist peer support to children, and other services, helping them practically and emotionally. This may include helping them to contribute to DHSRs and providing opportunities to recover from harm for example via trauma therapy and other services.

Through trauma-informed approaches, you will help the children bereaved by fatal domestic abuse:

  • To enhance their voice after fatal domestic abuse including by helping them to contribute to domestic homicide and suicide reviews and formal / informal meetings with various professionals.
  • By providing residential peer support events, or access to these events for both the children and their carers.
  • Via virtual support tools and other resources.
  • By developing pathways into groupwork programmes for carers of bereaved children.
  • Cope and recover by direct support and by linking into other services, for example, specialist trauma therapy.

Key Responsibilities
