About the Role:
These Support Worker roles at our Kilmarnock Titchfield Service involve working on a rota covering set day and back shifts weekly, including select weekend work. Both of these roles are part time, involving 21 hours of work per week, and are based at a service supporting individuals who have completed rehab and are in recovery. Recovery support can include life skills training, social and community engagement and goal-setting/personal development.

In this role you will have the opportunity to provide independent advocacy and participation opportunities for children and young people who are looked after, Care Experienced, or subject to formal processes and structures. The role will see you actively participating in child’s plan meetings, children’s hearings, and other formal processes. In partnership with professionals, carers, and organisations, you will help to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people.
The role will also include facilitating group opportunities for and with children and young people within the Dundee area. This includes providing engagement and participation opportunities, throughout the Who Cares? Scotland local and national networks.
The post holder will raise awareness of Who Cares? Scotland and its services to children, young people, professionals, third sector partners and carers. You will also help facilitate training to Dundee’s Corporate Parents alongside our national Corporate Parenting team.

About Options Ayrshire
Our Service is a busy respite care unit for children and young people with additional support needs, including complex learning and physical disabilities. As well as providing short residential breaks the service offers outreach to families and is also involved in the managing and running of an after school club as well as busy Easter and Summer play schemes.
Based in a quiet, residential street in Prestwick, our disability support service offers a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us.

Our relief workers play a crucial role in supporting our team. This work is offered on a casual, hourly paid basis to provide cover during staff absence and/or particularly busy periods. Shifts are worked on a rota basis - Some examples of shifts are: 9:45pm-8:45am (Wednesdays and Thursdays), 10pm-9am (Fridays), 9pm-9am (Saturdays) and 9pm-8:45am (Sundays).
We understand that applicants may have a number of other commitments however the ability to respond at short notice is an essential part of being a relief member of staff.
Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will be required to register with the SSSC under the Residential Child Care Workers category and the Day Care of Children Services category. We are looking for a colleague to lead our digital transformation, change management and innovation agenda, both within TSDG and across the wider third sector in Dumfries and Galloway. Internally, you will develop and deliver a digital roadmap for TSDG, championing effective use of our core platforms and building staff confidence and capability. Externally, you will strengthen digital inclusion in Dumfries and Galloway, lead our digital collaboration tool, and help other third sector organisations optimise their digital use and collaborate more effectively.
• Develop and lead delivery of a digital transformation roadmap for TSDG, covering systems, data, process improvement and digital capability.
• Deliver effective, joined-up use of internal digital platforms, reducing duplication, improving data flow between systems and strengthening reporting.
• Lead change management activity through communication and training, supporting staff to adopt new tools and ways of working.

Aberlour Options Lothian offers a range of short break services to children and young people with complex needs. We offer a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us. We are within easy commuting distance of Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian with access via the number 26, 111 and 124 bus routes.

What we are looking for....

Availability should be specified on your application form. As part of a small team, you will ensure that the highest level of physical and emotional care is provided to the children and young people. Experience in this type of work is preferred however we will consider all applications. The service opens Wednesday’s afterschool and from Friday 11am to Monday 12pm. As such, the requirement is to work mainly weekends. Shifts at weekends are 8am - 8pm or 12pm - 10pm and include sleepovers and wakened night shifts.
