The Governance and Administration Officer provides efficient, proactive and values led governance support to the Head of Corporate Services to ensure that all governance work is achieved within the timescales set whilst maintaining quality of delivery. About this role

The Project Lead will play a key role in supporting the Regional Coordinator / Service Manager with the day-to-day management, coordination and delivery of the OPFS local service.

The postholder will provide operational leadership and support to the service team, helping to ensure high-quality, person-centred and effective support is provided to single parents, children and families.

The Project Lead will support the delivery of the Whole Family Support Third Sector Delivery Fund, working alongside families to address the issues that matter most to them and contributing to improved outcomes for parents, children and families.

Working within the My Life and Me framework, they will support a strengths-based, trauma-informed and whole-family approach. They will help ensure families receive coordinated support based on their individual circumstances, strengths, priorities and aspirations.

The Project Lead will support staff practice, workforce development, quality assurance, performance monitoring and service improvement. They will work closely with colleagues and partners to develop effective pathways and ensure families can access the appropriate support from OPFS and other services.

The postholder will provide day-to-day supervision, guidance and support to staff and relevant colleagues as delegated and will deputise for the Regional Coordinator / Service Manager when required.

The role will contribute to the development of local whole-family support approaches and to the wider OPFS ambition that families experience a “no wrong door” approach, where they can access coordinated support without having to repeatedly tell their story.

About this role

The National Financial Inclusion Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for OPFS’s National Welfare Rights and Debt Service, ensuring that single parents across Scotland can access high-quality, person-centred welfare rights, benefits, money and debt advice. The postholder will lead the development and delivery of these services across OPFS frontline services and nationally, ensuring a consistent, accessible and high-quality approach across Scotland.

The postholder will directly line manage the Benefit, Debt and Money Advisors within the staff team, providing effective supervision, support, performance management and professional development. They will ensure consistent, high-quality advice and casework practice across the service and wider OPFS frontline delivery, in line with the Scottish National Standard for Advice and Information and relevant professional standards. The postholder will be required to achieve the Scottish National Standard for Advice (or equivalent recognised accreditation for money advice/welfare benefits) within their first year in post, and to lead the wider team towards accreditation.

The role will involve developing and embedding quality assurance processes, monitoring service performance and outcomes, managing the service budget, and building strong partnerships with statutory and voluntary sector organisations to strengthen referral pathways and maximise financial inclusion outcomes for single parent families. The postholder will also support the integration of welfare rights, benefits, money and debt advice across OPFS frontline services, sharing expertise, strengthening practice and ensuring families can access the right support at the right time.

The postholder will work closely with senior management to ensure the service is well resourced, evidence-based, and responsive to the needs of single parents, and will use frontline data and casework trends to inform OPFS’s wider policy and campaigning work on poverty and financial inclusion.

At Families Outside, we're the only national charity in Scotland working solely to support families affected by imprisonment. Joining the Weave Partnership alongside lead partner One Parent Families Scotland, Relationships Scotland, and Fife Gingerbread, the Project Partnership Lead provides the key role to oversee and develop Families Outside’s role within this project. They will:

• Coordinate Families Outside’s involvement in the Weave Partnership at a delivery level.
• Lead the development of evaluation, data capture, and the database in relation to family support, embedding shared Weave Partnership criteria into data gathering and reporting.
• Develop relationships to raise awareness of the Partnership, referral processes, and access to relevant resources for families.
• Engage with key agencies to embed a Whole Family approach and prevention of child poverty.

About the Opportunity

Join Kinship at an exciting milestone as we launch our first programme in Scotland. Working in partnership with Inspiring Scotland and local youth charity Y Sort It, this National Lottery-funded pilot will strengthen support for kinship families in West Dunbartonshire through a coordinated, whole-family approach.

As part of a small and dedicated delivery team, you will help shape Kinship’s future in Scotland, contribute to evidence-based learning, and make a lasting difference to kinship carers, children and young people in the local community.

The Role

As a Kinship Navigator, you will provide intensive, six-month support to kinship carers through Kinship Connected, helping families build resilience, access services and strengthen support networks. Based at Y Sort It and working across the community, you will develop trusted relationships with families, carry out assessments and reviews, and coordinate support with local partners, including Intandem mentors.

This is a rewarding, community-focused role where you will directly support kinship families while helping to demonstrate the impact of an innovative new model of support in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

As a Kinship Navigator, you will provide intensive one-to-one support to kinship carers, helping families access services, build support networks and achieve positive outcomes for the children in their care. You will carry out assessments, develop support plans, advocate on behalf of families and facilitate a local peer support group.

Working closely with Y Sort It, Inspiring Scotland and local partners, you will coordinate support for kinship families, strengthen referral pathways and contribute to a pioneering whole-family approach in West Dunbartonshire.

You will also play a key role in safeguarding, partnership working and maintaining high-quality records to demonstrate impact and inform future development of Kinship’s work in Scotland.

About You

We're looking for someone with experience supporting vulnerable families, carers or communities through direct casework, family support or similar roles. You'll be confident building trusted relationships, carrying out assessments, managing a caseload and working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary sector partners.

You will bring strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills, alongside an understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice. Knowledge of kinship care or the Scottish family support landscape would be beneficial, as would experience facilitating support groups and using CRM systems such as Salesforce.

Most importantly, you'll be empathetic, resilient and passionate about improving outcomes for kinship families, with the confidence to work independently while contributing to a small, supportive team.

This is a new, specialist role in our Whole Family Support Fund programme. You will provide confidential, one-to-one money advice to parents and carers of neurodivergent children and young people, helping families to maximise their income and build lasting financial resilience.

The post has national coverage, and you will build the money advice offer from scratch. You’ll carry out benefit checks, support families through applications, reviews, and appeals, help people manage debt, and run money-themed workshops. You will work alongside our Family Advisors so that money advice forms part of each family’s wider support.

You will be an experienced money, benefits or welfare rights adviser, with strong knowledge of the UK and Scottish social security systems, and able to explain complex information clearly to families under pressure.

This post may occasionally require evening and/or weekend work and will involve travel across Scotland.
