Our project takes its name from Finn – a cat who was beaten and left for dead but who has since been rescued
and found a safe home. Thanks to some love, care and attention, Finn is much improved, happier and no longer
lives in fear. In his new surroundings he has been able to move on from the bad experiences of the past. What
works for cats also works for people!
A supportive environment enables all of us to grow, make friendships and tackle isolation and stress.
Welcome to Finn’s Place
Finn’s Place is a community wellbeing hub for the southside of Glasgow. We aim to create a warm, welcoming space where individuals feel safe, seen, and connected, and can access activities and opportunities that can help them flourish.
We offer free, volunteer-led initiatives like craft clubs and music groups, alongside professional wellbeing-related services including massage, counselling, yoga, tai chi, and meditation. We run our own listening service. Each week, we host a community meal and an after-school kids’ club, which use produce from our community growing space ‘Square Yard’. We also work with local partners to offer community classes and peer support groups.
Finn’s Place and Langside Parish Church
Finn’s Place evolved out of a project started by Langside Church back in 2012. Members of the church are part of our community. However, Finn’s Place exists to welcome people from any faith or none, and to share the building for the benefit of everyone. You need to be comfortable with and aligned to our values to work at Finn’s Place, but you do not need to hold any particular religious belief.
Langside Church itself is an affirming church that welcomes and fully includes LGBTQ+ people. It is important to both Finn’s Place and the church that this is a welcoming and inclusive space for everyone, whatever their religion, background, sexuality, or gender.
