Aberdeen Community Delivery Coordinator

We’re looking for a friendly, motivated person to join our team. The Community Delivery Coordinator will support the delivery of the MCR Pathways mentoring programme in Aberdeen City and surrounding areas. You will support our volunteer mentors and young people, and ensure mentors and young people receive individualised support and remain fully engaged throughout their mentoring journey. You will be responsible for the timely recording and updating of internal mentor recruitment documentation, supporting mentor recruitment, and assisting with the delivery of in-school and community based mentoring and group work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage your own caseload of young people and mentors, from initial referral and relationship building to active programme participation.
  • Help with the recruitment, interviewing and training of volunteers, including conducting PVG safeguarding checks.
  • Facilitate and support the “matchmaking” process to ensure young people are paired with the most suitable mentors rapidly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular progress evaluations, providing both support and constructive challenge to monitor the impact of the programme.
  • Work with the regional team to help drive mentor recruitment to the targets needed for your area.
  • Maintain accurate records and produce high-quality case studies to satisfy funding and quality assurance requirements.

About You

  • Exceptional ability to build meaningful relationships with young people, education colleagues, volunteer mentors, key partners and community organisations.
  • Awareness and understanding of the principles of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Ability and confidence to present programme information and deliver prepared training sessions to groups.
  • Ability to work well on own initiative, as part of a team and on a flexible basis in response to young people and organisational needs.
  • An understanding of the challenges and barriers that care-experienced and/or vulnerable young people and young adults may encounter.
  • Experience or a knowledge of processes to document and evidence good practice and positive outcomes.
  • Good knowledge of the local area, including community groups, employers and local organisations.

You should be a “people person”, open-minded and happy talking to large groups as well as having one-to-one chats.
