We’re building a passionate, community rooted team to help deliver Lighting Up the Hynish Shore Station — a major heritage and sustainability project celebrating the legacy of the Skerryvore Lighthouse, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The Hynish Trust is recruiting a Heritage Preservation Officer to help deliver Lighting Up the Hynish Shore Station — a two‑year programme celebrating the remarkable legacy of the Skerryvore Lighthouse. You’ll work closely with a new Sustainability Development Officer to create joined‑up heritage and sustainability outcomes for the site, the community, and visitors

Role Overview

  • Develop a 3‑Year Heritage Plan and Conservation Plan
  • Refresh exhibitions and deliver engaging tours
  • Lead community engagement and volunteer activity
  • Support collections digitisation and archaeology work
  • Lead heritage‑related funding applications

You’ll Need

  • Experience in the heritage sector
  • Confidence engaging diverse audiences
  • Strong project‑management and communication skills
  • A desire to contribute to a rural island community
  • A full driving licence

The Hynish Trust is recruiting a Sustainability Development Officerto strengthen organisational resilience and environmental practice as part of Lighting Up the Hynish Shore Station — a two‑year programme celebrating the Skerryvore Lighthouse and its future potential. You’ll work closely with a new Heritage Preservation Officer to deliver integrated sustainability and heritage outcomes for the Hynish estate and wider community.

Role Overview

  • Deliver a3‑Year Sustainability Plan
  • Lead budgets, policy reviews and governance improvements
  • Develop the Trust’s Environmental Plan
  • Support income‑generation for the Hynish estate
  • Lead and manage funding applications, monitoring and evaluation

You’ll Need

  • Experience in project development and income generation
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • A desire to contribute to a rural island community
  • A full driving licence
