Fundraising Trustee

  • Management Board
  • Unpaid
  • Edinburgh
  • Closing 1st April 2022

The opportunity has arisen to join FetLor Youth Club as a trustee with responsibility for leading fundraising.

Role

FetLor Youth Club has an exciting opportunity for an individual with fundraising experience who shares our passion for supporting children and young people in North Edinburgh to join the Board of Directors as a Trustee.

We’re looking for someone with a fundraising track record who can offer both leadership and practical advice in raising vital funds to support the work carried out by FetLor.

By helping FetLor to embed a variety of sustainable income streams, the successful candidate will be playing a key role in supporting some of North Edinburgh’s most vulnerable children.

About FetLor Youth Club

Founded in 1924, FetLor Youth Club aims to support children and young people in North Edinburgh to develop their resilience, their confidence and achieve their potential.

By offering a safe place, we can support the club’s members to build their confidence, achieve their ambitions and play a positive role in society.

Our mission is to offer children a safe place where our skilled youth workers can take the time to build trust and support our young people, even in times of challenge, hardship and real need. We will ensure that every child who visits our club benefits from a healthy hot meal.

FetLor has a Board of nine Trustees who volunteer their time with the intention of helping the charity thrive. Collectively, we have a diverse range of skills and have identified fundraising as an area we need to build leadership and strategy.

The role is voluntary and unpaid but we hope that working with the Board and FetLor’s amazing staff to help support vulnerable children in need will be a rewarding experience.

Time Commitment

The Trustees meet four times a year to discuss and decide on policy, strategy and governance issues and to provide oversight of the management of its finances. In addition, and in helping to establish new funding streams, there will be additional meetings with the charity’s Chief Executive and a small fundraising working group of Board members and volunteers.
