The Society which provides financial support to individuals who are unable to work because of illness is seeking a Welfare Officer. Key elements of the role are to visit applicants and existing beneficiaries in their own home and to assist the Trustees in deciding applications for financial support.

You will have significant relevant experience of dealing, in a domestic or other support or advice context, with people who are unable to work. You should also have a substantial understanding of current welfare benefits although the provision of advice is not part of the role. This is a part-time role where you will be expected to manage your own caseload and have flexibility in the timing of visits. The salary is £33,816 per annum pro rata and based on 29 days per annum (including holidays). You will be based in the EH postcode area and work from your home. You will need a driving licence and access to a car.
