Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Senior Management Team, you will develop ways of working to deliver our organisational people strategy and annual operations plan. You will also lead on other key business functions such as Payroll, Health and Safety, Compliance, and Data Protection.
You will work across a growing and dynamic team based in Moray and the Highlands, supporting our managers to build capacities and develop our talent internally, seeing people flourish in their roles and succeed.
The role will be based from our Findhorn Office, with travel to Dundreggan and home working.
The start date for this role will be March/April 2023.

The Trees for Life mission is to rewild the Scottish Highlands by enabling the restoration of the globally unique Caledonian Forest which once covered much of Scotland. Dundreggan is a 10,000-acre estate in Glenmoriston between Loch Ness and Skye. Since 2008, the estate has been transformed into one of the best examples of forest restoration in Scotland. It includes a ground-breaking tree nursery and is where many volunteers come to take part in rewilding projects.
Dundreggan Rewilding Centre
A Rewilding Centre is being developed at Dundreggan. It will include an innovative visitor experience and education centre, including a café, events and educational facilities. The Rewilding Centre will be an inspiring location where visitors of all ages, interests and backgrounds can explore the natural, Gaelic and cultural heritage of the Highlands and be inspired and educated about rewilding and the restoration of the Caledonian Forest.

Overall Purpose of the Job
To support the Education Manager in ensuring anyone visiting the Rewilding Centre, for whatever purpose, has a memorable experience and also leaves knowing and understanding more about rewilding, the heritage of the Scottish Highlands and especially the restorative journeys of the region's Gaelic heritage and unique Caledonian Forest.

Scope, Accountability and Resources
This role focuses on the development and delivery of the educational elements of the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre, including both formal education with academic institutions and more informal education with visiting groups and individuals.
It is accountable for assisting the Education Manager in ensuring high quality educational activities are developed and promoted and that the facilities available at the centre are optimally used by as diverse a range of schools, universities, interest and community groups as appropriate. A special aspect of this role is ensuring that education of the natural heritage is closely integrated with the Gaelic culture of the area.
Resources: The postholder will work initially with the Education Manager and then with a larger team from early 2023 to assist with planning and delivery of activities, education and events, and some administrative tasks. The team will have a range of equipment to help deliver these activities.
The successful candidate will be passionate about rewilding, and experienced in delivering outdoor learning at different levels to varied audiences. They will have a practical and flexible approach, able to respond to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment, be able to manage and prioritise a varied workload, and be comfortable working outdoors in all conditions.

Trees for Life are one of Scotland’s leading rewilding conservation organisations, working to welcome a larger, and more diverse audience to Dundreggan, our flagship rewilding estate based in the Scottish Highlands. We are developing an exciting new project to make this happen, and in 2023, the Dundreggan Rewilding Centre will be open to welcome visitors and share the history of this area is steeped in gaelic culture, history and of course shares our rewilding message.
As building work is now successfully under way, we are looking to recruit a Marketing Manager with demonstrable success in achieving KPIs, driving visitor satisfaction and effective and professional communication skills. Technical abilities in the use of wordpress, CRM, CMS and Google analytics are desirable, when teamed up with your approach to organisation, delivery of deadlines and knowledge of the tourism and hospitality sectors.
You will be able to work from home, whilst living in commutable distance to our office at Dundreggan, working alongside our team of dedicated and inspiring colleagues. A unique and one off opportunity has arisen to work on the development of our flagship Dundreggan Rewilding Centre as the Centre Director. This is a fixed term role ( maternity cover) for 12 months, with the possibility of a 2-3 month extension subject to conditions.
We are welcoming applications from those wanting to join the team as an employee, with consideration for those who are self employed contractors. The successful candidate will be based within travelling distance to Dundreggan and initially be working at site one day a week, with this increasing to 3-5 days a week as building work draws to a close. Flexibility and a driving license are essential for this position.
Based in one of the Highland’s most beautiful landscapes, the successful candidate will be working towards implementation of a pre-existing work plan to ensure the smooth opening of the
Rewilding Centre, a £6million project which is the next stage of the charity's ambitious plans. You will have a background in tourism and ideally, nature based tourism, demonstrating the ability to draw in audiences, develop activities and schedules with the centres Education Manager and also recruit a team of staff who also share our vision.
A large part of this position involves managing key external relationships, including funding organisations who support the capital and operational expenditures of the Rewilding Centre. These may include the National Lottery Heritage Fund or the Natural and Cultural Heritage Fund, led by NatureScot and part funded through the European Regional Development Fund, which both provide funds for the Centre Director role.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Head of Finance and Resources will be accountable for highly effective and best practice financial controls, reporting, processes and systems to support all areas of Trees for Life as the organisation grows.
The postholder will actively contribute to the strategic and operational goals of the department and wider organisation. Together with the wider finance team, ensure the timely and accurate production of statutory and management accounts, forecasting and planning, resource management and a strong financial control environment. Managing and developing the finance and resources team in line with Trees for Life standards and expectations, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement for employees.

As part of our Skills for Rewilding traineeship programme we are looking to recruit a creative person who is passionate about Scotland’s wild places. Someone who is interested in developing digital marketing skills, that they can use to inspire people to either actively engage with the natural world, or support action to restore it so wildlife can flourish and communities can thrive.
This is an entry level traineeship, so it would be ideal for someone starting out on a career in fundraising/marketing/online communications. No qualifications are required to apply for this position. During the course of the 12-month traineeship the participant will work towards a Digital Marketing qualification supported by the Virtual Learning Academy.

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and focused Head of Rewilding Activities to lead our conservation and tree nursery team based at Dundreggan. The post holder will be a senior manager, combining knowledge and experience of ecology, conservation and project management, with the skills and behaviours to model and share our values and ethos with the team and wider community.
The role will oversee the management, and rewilding of our 10,000 acre estate Dundreggan, west of Loch Ness, and ongoing forest restoration work across the Highlands at both private and public land, alongside our established conservation volunteering programme.
The role is also responsible for the delivery of a range of time-limited, externally funded activities, currently including: The Reds Return- a squirrel translocation project, Skills for Rewilding Traineeships and the Caledonian Pinewood Recovery project.
