Cora Foundation
Charity registered in Scotland SC022923
Cora Foundation was established by the Bishops’ Conference of the Roman Catholic Hierarchy in Scotland as the organisation within which a number of social care and specialist education projects could operate and develop strategically. Currently, these are St. Mary’s Kenmure Secure Unit Bishopbriggs, SMK Care Services, St. Philip’s School Plains, Arisaig Unit, The Good Shepherd Centre Bishopton, The Good Shepherd Close Support Bishopton and GSC Through-Care. An independent Board of Trustees governs each of these projects. Cora Foundation is the central body, administering funds on behalf of the projects. The charity also works closely with Stepdown, who have common directorships with Cora Foundation. Stepdown was established initially to provide care and support services for children moving from the secure units back into society and now works in a number of fields including fostering and intensive community support.
