The ICAS Foundation is on the lookout for a passionate and very organised individual to join us as a Foundation Administrator.
Who We Are: The ICAS Foundation is an independent charity that collaborates closely with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS) to champion equity, diversity, and inclusion among its members. For the past decade, we've been dedicated to empowering university students studying accountancy and finance, having granted over £2 million in funding. Each year, we support approximately 100 students across universities in Scotland and England, welcoming around 35 new Scholars annually and guiding them through their university journey for up to 4 years.
Our core mission is to enable academically talented young people from less privileged backgrounds to pursue accountancy or finance-related degrees. We accomplish this through financial bursaries, a mentoring scheme, and facilitating internships and graduate job opportunities.
The Job: As a Foundation Administrator, you'll dive into a multifaceted role that involves diary management, meeting coordination, minute-taking, data collection, and thanking donors for their donations. You will be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and supporting the administration needs of our volunteers, students and donors.
You'll help to organise board meetings, manage the mailbox, student bursary and grant enquiries administration and coordinate updates from mentors, students, and alumni. Additionally, you'll support fundraising initiatives, administering donations, writing thank you letters to donors and support at events to elevate our charity's visibility and income.
Your work will directly contribute to our mission of supporting young people from diverse backgrounds in the UK, enabling them to pursue higher education and a broader range of career opportunities, including becoming a Chartered Accountant.
Who We Need: We're seeking an experienced and organised administrator, with a preference for candidates who have worked in charitable organisations. However, we're open to various work experiences that can be applied to advance the ICAS Foundation's charitable purpose.

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and diverse role, enjoys engaging with others, and is adept at managing multiple tasks, stakeholders, and schedules. You should be comfortable juggling diaries, coordinating external meetings and events, and collaborating closely with a small, enthusiastic and hard-working team with direct responsibility to the Director.

What the job is:
The main areas of work will focus on assisting with diary management, meeting set up and minuting of meetings, collation of information and data input. The role will process data using Excel and our database Salesforce (training provided) collating and processing information for volunteers and students.
The role will be expected to process student bursary applications and process grant applications from students. Using our student management tools, the role will track conditions of funding are being met by students and coordinate updates from our mentors, students, and alumni throughout the year.
Support for various fundraising initiatives will also be part of the role, supporting events, administering donations, and attending events to raise the profile and income of the charity.
This work will contribute to ensuring that the charity can continue to support young people from lower socio-economic and diverse backgrounds across the UK fulfil their ambition of attending university and having a wider range of career options available to them, including becoming a Chartered Accountant.
Who we need:
We are looking for an experienced and organised administrator, ideally with experience of working in a charitable organisation, however we are open to a variety of work experience that could be transferable to promote and drive the great work of the ICAS Foundation.
The work of the Foundation is all about making a difference, is rewarding, varied and at times challenging. We are looking for someone who enjoys engaging with others, in a fast paced and varied role.
You’ll have strong organisational skills, administrative and IT skills to support the Foundations many charity activities, our bursary and funding process and engagement with our volunteer mentor applications and the administration of the end-to-end process. You’ll have excellent time management skills and enjoy and be comfortable managing multiple prioritises, stakeholders, managing diaries, scheduling, and coordinating external meetings and events.

Working in collaboration with the Foundation’s Director, the Fundraising Executive will be responsible for establishing a cohesive fundraising strategy amongst ICAS Members to support the charitable aims of the Foundation. We are looking to develop a long-term strategy to transform the way in which the Foundation is currently funded. Therefore, this role will be pivotal to delivering the aspirations of the Foundation’s Business plan, the aims and objectives of the Foundation Trustees and for ICAS to ensure the viability and longevity of the ICAS Foundation.

We are looking for a creative, confident and experienced fundraiser ideally with a charitable organisation background to join us to promote and drive the great work that the ICAS Foundations does.
Driven, hardworking, tenacious you will be able to identify, contact and develop potential new donors and effectively manage existing donor relationships. Your easy, professional relationship building, and communication style will enable you to engender trust and support for the Foundations aims and build our pipeline of ICAS members and potential corporate donors.
You will be expert both in the spoken and written word, writing engaging reports and communications on the virtues of being part of the ICAS Foundation. With a natural persuasive style, initiative, and research skills you will establish new fundraising opportunities, securing increased numbers and fostering renewed interest in what we are trying to achieve. Your success will be clear by increased donations from ICAS Members and a strong pipeline of legacy giving and corporate donations.
