Action in Mind is an independent mental health charity and company limited by guarantee. We have been working across the Stirling Council area since 1985 supporting people experiencing mental health difficulties and living with chronic and long term mental illness.
We provide a range of person-centred support services – befriending, counselling, day resource, rural outreach and home support and develop projects with partner organisations where we have identified unmet needs or where changes in health and social care policy may impact on mental health service users.
About Us: Action in Mind is a leading independent local mental health charity, dedicated to supporting individuals in Stirling, Clackmannanshire, and Falkirk. We support people, their families, and carers experiencing mental health difficulties and those living with chronic and enduring mental illness. We are a passionate team committed to making a positive impact in our community. We are looking for board trustees, specifically one specialising in finance, to support our work. We are also open to other potential trustees for example, with experience in social work or social care, or any other experience you feel would be valuable to our organisation.

Finance Trustee
This is a voluntary position.
Responsibilities:
- Become a valued member of our Board, contributing your financial expertise to help shape our charity's strategic direction.
- Attend board meetings approximately once a month to collaborate on important decisions and progress.
- Provide support to our dedicated full-time staff, as and when needed, to ensure financial matters are handled efficiently.
- Your primary focus will be on financial matters, although an interest in mental health will be highly appreciated.
Key Duties:
- Regularly liaise with our finance team, staying updated on financial status and identifying potential funding opportunities.
- Play a crucial role in reporting financial matters to the board, facilitating informed decision-making and contributing to the success and sustainability of our services.
Requirements:
- While not required to be a qualified accountant, a background in finance or related field is essential.
- Time availability to fulfil trustee responsibilities and support our staff when needed.
- A passion for making a difference in mental health through your financial acumen.
- Enthusiasm, dedication, and a commitment to the cause.
