For more than four decades, NAWA has worked to support women and families, provide specialist services and contribute to creating safer communities.

We are delighted to be recruiting for a new and exciting role within the organisation:Fundraising Officer.

This is an important opportunity for an experienced fundraising professional to help shape and develop NAWA’s fundraising approach and secure the resources needed to sustain and develop our services.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference, has excellent fundraising and relationship-building skills, and can identify opportunities to generate sustainable income for the organisation.

About the role

As our Fundraising Officer, you will take the lead in developing a sustainable pipeline of funding opportunities and maximising income against agreed targets.

You will:

• Develop and deliver NAWA’s fundraising plan, achieving and exceeding agreed income targets.

• Research and identify new opportunities with trusts, foundations and statutory funders.

• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective and existing funders.

• Write high-quality, compelling and tailored funding applications, proposals, cases for support and expressions of interest.

• Develop excellent funding reports and impact updates that demonstrate the difference NAWA’s work makes to women and families.

• Build meaningful, long-term relationships with funders and provide excellent stewardship to encourage repeat funding.

• Work with colleagues across NAWA to gather outcomes, data, case studies and financial information to strengthen funding applications and demonstrate impact.

• Contribute to the development of our wider fundraising and income-generation strategy.

• Keep up to date with developments within the fundraising sector and identify opportunities for growth and innovation.

• Use fundraising data, insight and pipeline analysis to support planning, forecasting and decision-making.

• Ensure fundraising records, deadlines, reporting requirements and funding commitments are accurately maintained.

• Ensure fundraising activity complies with GDPR, charity law and the Code of Fundraising Practice.

About you

We are looking for an experienced fundraiser who can combine excellent relationship-building skills with strong research, writing and organisational abilities.

You will have a proven track record of identifying funding opportunities and developing successful applications and reports. You will be confident communicating with funders and external stakeholders and able to build professional relationships based on trust and a clear understanding of their priorities.

You will be highly organised, able to manage competing deadlines and comfortable working independently while also collaborating closely with colleagues across the organisation.

Most importantly, you will share NAWA’s commitment to supporting women affected by domestic abuse and understand the importance of securing sustainable funding to protect and develop our vital services.

Why join North Ayrshire Women’s Aid?

This is more than a fundraising role. Your work will directly contribute to the sustainability of services that support women experiencing domestic abuse.

You will have the opportunity to shape and develop NAWA’s fundraising approach at an exciting time for the organisation, working closely with the Chief Officer, Board of Directors and service teams.

You will be joining an organisation with a long history of supporting women in North Ayrshire and a strong commitment to making a lasting difference.
