Erskine Veterans Charity

Charity registered in Scotland SC006609

ERSKINE is an iconic Scottish charity, formed in 1916 by Scotland’s compassionate response to the horrors of war. A century later, we still believe that Veterans and their families deserve our utmost respect and compassion, for the sacrifices they made and the challenges they now face. At Erskine, we work as a dedicated team to ensure that Veterans of all ages are cared for to the highest of standards in a beautiful, fun-filled environment, made up of four care homes and a Veterans Village of cottages, activities centre and apartments.

Top job! Head of Facilities Management

  • Full time
  • £68,000 – £80,000
  • Hybrid: Bishopton
  • Closing 17th August 2026

For over a century, Erskine has supported veterans across Scotland through exceptional care, housing and community services. Our estate is at the heart of that mission, providing the environments that enable veterans and their families to thrive.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Facilities Management to lead the strategic and operational management of our diverse property portfolio, including care homes, the Veterans Village, supported accommodation and community facilities across Scotland.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the development and delivery of Erskine's estates and facilities strategy, ensuring our buildings remain safe, compliant, sustainable and fit for the future. You will oversee maintenance and capital investment programmes, drive improvements in performance and value, and play a key role in supporting the organisation's future growth, including the development of new Veteran Activity Centres.

We are looking for a commercially minded facilities management leader with experience of managing complex, multi-site estates. You will have a strong track record in compliance, health and safety, contractor management, asset planning and budget leadership, alongside the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, suppliers and senior stakeholders.

Experience within the care sector is not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with facilities leadership experience gained in sectors such as housing, education, defence, commercial property, hospitality, infrastructure or other safety-critical environments.

This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic influence with meaningful purpose, helping to shape the environments that support veterans across Scotland today and for generations to come.

Based at Erskine Veterans Village in Bishopton, the role will involve travel to services across Scotland as required and operates within Erskine's hybrid working model, with the successful candidate expected to spend approximately 50% of their time on site.

Erskine is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status or pregnancy and maternity.
