The overall responsibility of this worker will be to publicise, promote, organise
and deliver the V.I.P. (Violence Is Preventable) Programme resources to
children and young people.
Main Duties
- Plan and develop a strategy for raising the profile of the V.I.P. Programme.
- Publicise and promote abuse and violence prevention programmes in schools, nurseries and youth groups.
- Increase the profile of the VIP Programme with schools, the public, agencies, councils, government and others.
- Promote the VIP Programme with family centres, schools, nurseries and voluntary groups.
- Deliver V.I.P. programme to children and young people in schools,nnurseries and children’s groups.
- Network with other agencies to encourage abuse prevention work.
- Recruit train and support volunteers to actively assist in this work.
- Provide training on delivery of the V.I.P Programme as necessary.
- Promote the good practice of Eighteen and Under.
- Ensure recording and monitoring systems are in place and up to date.
- Encourage and promote development of services for young survivors of violence.
