Borders Voluntary Care Voice is a membership based organisation that supports the development of local partnerships between users, carers, third sector organisations, Scottish Borders Council, NHS Borders and other relevant organisations. This aims to promote good practice in the planning and provision of health and social care services.

We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees to help guide and advise us on financial matters.

We would be keen to hear from someone who would like to become part of our dedicated and passionate team of Trustees and staff. You should have finance/accounting experience and knowledge of financial systems and reporting.

We work with people and providers to promote equality and support change in health and social care. We do this by developing partnerships between people with lived experience, carers, third sector organisations, the health and social care partnership and other relevant organisations – to promote good practice in the co-production of health and social care services.

The Board of Trustees comprises local providers and individual members of Borders Care Voice. It meets four times a year (remotely just now) and holds the annual general meeting between September and December.

Travel costs and all out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.

Mental Health Development Worker

Do you have experience of working with people with lived experience of mental ill health?

Do you want to work for a charity that aims to give them a voice?

We are looking for a Mental Health Development Worker (21 hours per week) to join our team in the Scottish Borders. The salary is £25,825 pro-rata and we offer generous benefits.

You'll be supporting people with experience of mental health conditions (and their carers) to be actively involved in improving local health and social care services.

You'll also promote, facilitate and support the Scottish Borders Mental Health and Wellbeing Forum, including its role in mental health planning.

The post is based in our Galashiels office, and some home working is possible.

There will be some travel throughout the Borders. You may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.

This job is fixed term for 12 months, but there is potential to extend it.
