Advice Worker – Minority Ethnic

East Dunbartonshire CAB based in Kirkintilloch is an independent and innovative advice organisation providing holistic advice and support to local residents.

This post is funded, initially for 24 months, with a possible extension dependent on availability of funding.

To work alongside and re-establish relationships with minority groups in East Dunbartonshire, including those within resettlement schemes. Gather information relating to the issues that affect the quality of life of minority ethnic groups. Provide independent information and advice through referral appointments or drop-in at CAB, home-visits or outreach surgeries.

Knowledge of benefits and associated criteria is essential, as is excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A working knowledge of current Immigration and resettlement criteria is also essential.

The post will be based in Kirkintilloch with service delivery throughout outreach locations within the East Dunbartonshire area.

A working knowledge of both Department for Work & Pensions, Social Security Scotland and money advice processes will be required in order to deliver a holistic service to the client group.

The post will be based in Kirkintilloch and deliver the service throughout Foodbank locations within the East Dunbartonshire area.

Money Advice Worker

The Citizens Advice Bureau offers a Free, Confidential and Impartial advice and representation service to the residents of East Dunbartonshire.

Good working knowledge of money advice or debt/counselling experience including a knowledge of the benefits system and of money advice legislation.

Knowledge of money advice strategies is essential as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The post will be based in the CAB between Bishopbriggs and Kirkintilloch although the service will be delivered in various outreach locations throughout East Dunbartonshire. There will also be a requirement to provide home visits.

The Organisation is currently operating on a hybrid model of working between home and office. The opportunity is also available for condensed hours.

Current driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable .

Peer Support Worker

The project will provide a practical solution to social problems that we currently face, in reducing the resource intensity and repeat visits by service users with mental health issues existing, caused or exacerbated by Covid 19.

We are seeking a client focused, enthusiastic and experienced mental health support worker. The successful applicant is expected to deal confidently with the public and to work flexibly as a member of the team responsible for overall service delivery.

To promote awareness of mental health issues within the staff and volunteer base and support staff with difficult interview situations.

We are also looking for a proven ability to work effectively and be well organised. Proficiency using a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including case management systems, accurate case recording and Microsoft Office applications is essential. Committed, results-driven and supportive to the needs of others, you work well within a team and are willing to follow and develop agreed procedures.

Experience in a Mental Health supporting role in statutory or third sector is essential.
