Marketing Officer

We have an exciting opportunity for a digitally-savvy, proactive and enthusiastic Marketing Officer to help shape our social media strategy and work across the full marketing mix in a busy, varied role.

The Queen’s Hall is one of the city’s best-loved music venues. Our programme includes classical, jazz, folk, rock, pop, and independent contemporary music, as well as comedy and spoken word. We host local acts and international performers, emerging and acclaimed artists, and showcase around 200 events each year which attract approximately 90,000 audience members. We are also an important Edinburgh festivals venue.

We are seeking a Marketing Officer who is looking for a flexible and collaborative role to develop venue marketing, individual show promotion, and the advancement of fundraising and development initiatives, with the opportunity to work across different areas of the business.

You will be talking to audiences, promoters, supporters, and other stakeholders, developing The Queen’s Hall’s voice, increasing our reach and ensuring that all users have a positive experience of the venue.

Reporting to and working with our Marketing and Development Manager, key responsibilities will include:

• Social media growth, engagement and analysis

• Website management

• Customer communications

• Copywriting

• Design (digital and print assets)

• Venue dressing

• Advertising and press

• Use of our CRM/ticketing software

The ideal candidate will bring some similar experience to the role, have a calm, positive and friendly outlook and understand the need to provide excellent work to a high standard. Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK.

Fundraiser

This is a brand new role at one of Edinburgh's key cultural venues. The successful candidate will be experienced in their field and ready to lead on the collaborative development of a fundraising strategy.

An independent Charity, The Queen’s Hall is a much-loved venue in Edinburgh, operating since 1979. Our excellent acoustic and intimacy have enhanced a programme which includes classical, jazz, folk, rock, pop, and independent contemporary music, as well as comedy and spoken word. We are home to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and are a key Edinburgh International Festival venue.

We are looking for an experienced Fundraiser to lead on generating essential, core, project and capital funds. The post-holder will be responsible for leading on the collaborative development of a fundraising strategy that will deliver:

• Core revenue

• Project and artistic development programme funding

• Capital and equipment funding in line with The Queen’s Hall Capital and Fundraising Priority Plan

The job holder will lead fundraising and call on the talent, knowledge and experience of The Queen’s Hall team of staff and trustees for support.

If you have a demonstrable successful track record in fundraising, an excellent knowledge of the current fundraising landscape, experience of creating successful fundraising strategies and excellent project management, relationship-building and communication skills we would like to hear from you. We are happy to accept applications from freelance candidates, as well as those looking for part-time and full-time employment.

The post-holder will work collegiately with other staff members in a small and progressive team. Flexibility is essential, with evening and weekend working required.

This role will be based in The Queen’s Hall venue in Edinburgh’s Southside, with the opportunity for flexible home-working dependent on the needs of the business. Some evening work will be required with time off in lieu.
