As a Trustee, you will help guide and support this important work, contributing to the strategic leadership and governance of an organisation that makes a real difference to people's lives every day. As we embark on an exciting new strategic phase, we are looking for people who are passionate about our cause and we welcome applications from both experienced Trustees and individuals new to Board roles who can demonstrate the judgement, confidence and strategic perspective required of charity Trustees.

We welcome applications from people with lived experience of being affected by crime, and we are also looking to increase the diversity of Board members. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, cultures, and communities to apply for Trustee positions, as we believe that a diverse board enhances our ability to provide effective support to victims, representative of our communities.

We are particularly interested in applicants who bring strength in one or more of the following areas:

• Strategic development and organisational transformation – including shaping, delivering or governing strategy in complex or changing environments.

• Organisational sustainability – including income diversification, partnership working, or long term financial viability.

• Criminal justice system experience – policy, practice or leadership experience within justice, statutory or related public services impacting victims and witnesses.

• Charity governance and board leadership – experience as a trustee, non executive, committee chair or senior leader with a strong understanding of good governance.

What is the role?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Coordinator (Armed Forces) on a fixed-term contract basis for 2 years, 30 hours per week. Working week will be between the following days and hours:

Monday - Friday between 8am - 8pm & Saturdays 10am - 4pm

Salary band: £27,598 - £36,445 (pro-rata). Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line with VSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will only be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

Primary location: Kirkcaldy, Fife. Travel is not a daily requirement of the role, however there will be occasions when travel across Scotland is necessary.

As part of this role, you will provide specialist support to individuals from Armed Forces communities who have been affected by domestic abuse. Working in partnership with Scottish Women’s Aid, you will deliver tailored one-to-one support, helping individuals feel safe, listened to, informed, and empowered to make choices about their future.

Reporting to the Locality Manager, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality services across your locality, ensuring support is accessible, effective, and responsive to the needs of victims and witnesses. You will contribute to the successful implementation of service plans and help ensure individuals receive the guidance and support they need at the right time.

A key aspect of the role will be coordinating and supporting a team of dedicated volunteers who provide services to Armed Forces communities affected by domestic abuse. You will lead on volunteer recruitment, induction, training, development, and ongoing supervision, ensuring volunteers are equipped to deliver compassionate, person-centred support. Through strong leadership and effective coordination, you will help ensure services achieve positive outcomes for those who need them most.

What is the role?

We are looking for a Business Systems and Insight Officer, working 35 hours per week Monday - Friday.

The Business Systems and Insight Officer will play a key role in supporting organisational planning and the development of the systems and infrastructure that underpin operational functions and data-driven decision-making.

Primarily, the purpose of the role is to support the implementation and development of information systems and infrastructure that underpins our service delivery and enables critical business governance. This involves coordinating and supporting system improvements and change processes for the organisation’s CRM, liaising between VSS’s service delivery, national teams and the IT and Digital Services Team. Developing and maintaining systems to record VSS business plans and track progress of organisational objectives and supporting the contract management of external systems developer, chiefly the CRM developer and potentially also the phone systems that facilitate VSS’s National Support Centre.

Primary location: Glasgow or Edinburgh (Hybrid working available)

Salary: £31,890 - £42,109 per annum. Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to regular review - in line with VSS performance appraisal arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject to experience demonstrated.

What you’ll need to be successful

We are looking for a dynamic, driven, and motivated individual with a relevant University degree, or equivalent professional experience. The role requires someone who can demonstrates a deep understanding of business information systems, and skills in organisational performance management. You will have knowledge of CRM design and development (particularly Microsoft Dynamics) and meticulous attention to detail and accuracy. You should have excellent communications skills and experience of using Case Record Management systems, SharePoint, and Dynamics 365. A willingness to be flexible on working hours and to travel as required is expected.

What is the role

We are recruiting for a National Support Centre (NSC) Supervisor based in Glasgow. This post is for full-time, 6-Month Fixed-Term contract.

Our (NSC) provides 7-day support to people experiencing crime. The support we provide centres around our National Helpline and online platforms. We receive and process referrals from across Scotland from Courts, Police, external agencies and people themselves who have been affected by crime. The NSC is very much the first point of contact for people needing our support.

As part of the National Support Centre Team, you will be responsible for a team of volunteers delivering, implementing and evaluating the nationwide National Support Centre function across VSS. When no volunteers are available, you will be required to do direct service delivery. You will ensure that volunteers are supported, knowledgeable and capable of delivering the support that meets the service user’s needs.
