Museums Galleries Scotland (MGS) is the National Development Body for Scotland’s museums and galleries. We support a sector of 452 museums and galleries, through strategic investment, workforce development, advice, and advocacy. We are looking for an Operations and Compliance Assistant to provide administrative and operational support within our Resources team. With a varied workload, this post supports all aspects of business and facilities administration; and processes which support compliance of the MGS SQA Assessment Centre. This role is part of a Resources team with a strong focus on business improvement, delivering core activities which support sustainability across the organisation

You will bring strong organisational and administrative skills, a collaborative approach, and experience supporting business and compliance processes. You will be a clear and effective communicator with a strong customer focus and the ability to problem-solve and use initiative. The successful candidate will manifest MGS’s core values: collaboration, integrity, passion for museums, and courageousness.

We have a hybrid working approach and are happy to talk flexible working. While this role is designed as a full-time post, we would be open to considering a minimum of 28 hours per week. The postholder will ideally work a Friday to ensure team cover across the week. For this role we are looking the postholder to attend the office in Edinburgh a minimum of two days a week, for effective office and facilities support.
