We are currently recruiting a part-time Assistant Finance Officer to join our dedicated and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong financial administration and bookkeeping skills who wants to contribute to an organisation committed to inclusion, equality and independent living.

At LCIL, we are a user-led organisation committed to supporting Disabled People to live independently in the community of their choice. Everything we do is grounded in inclusion, respect and collaboration, placing people at the heart of our services.

This is a rewarding opportunity to join LCIL's Finance Team and play a key role in supporting the efficient and effective operation of our finance function.

You will provide high-quality financial administration, bookkeeping and credit control support across all LCIL services, helping to ensure accurate financial records, timely processing of transactions and strong financial controls throughout the organisation.

Working closely with the Finance Officer, you will support sales and purchase ledger activities, bank reconciliations, credit control processes, reporting, payroll administration and audit preparation. You will also act as a first point of contact for finance-related enquiries and help ensure our financial systems and procedures remain robust and compliant.

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

• Experience of financial administration, bookkeeping and processing financial transactions

• Experience maintaining accurate financial records and performing reconciliations

• Strong numerical, organisational and analytical skills

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Experience using accounting software, ideally Xero

• Confidence using Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel

• The ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and work both independently and as part of a team

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience of working within the voluntary, community or charity sector and knowledge of charity finance would be advantageous but is not essential.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, supporting a wide range of stakeholders including funders, local authorities, auditors, suppliers and service users.

Why Join LCIL?

We offer a supportive and flexible working environment, including:

• Flexible and hybrid working patterns

• 25 days annual leave + 10 public holidays (prorated for 0.6 FTE)

• Generous employer pension contribution

• Opportunities for personal and professional development
