Based in the Resilient Families Team this position will support women through pregnancy and families with children under 5; delivering intensive one to one support, a range of educational parenting programmes and support our volunteers.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hard-working individual to join our dynamic team. Volunteers are an invaluable and integral part of Healthy Valleys. The Project Worker will create a volunteer recruitment strategy and recruit, interview and provide training for all new volunteers and support existing volunteers. They will provide ongoing support, organise training and ensure all volunteer polices and procedures are adhered to.
This position is funded until 31st March 2022 (could be extended depending on securing further funding).

Due to successfully securing new funding, we have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and passionate Engagement Mechanic for our Active Travel programme who will support the maintenance of our bike and eBike fleet, as well as engage our communities with Active Travel and support them to develop their own skills in this field.
You’ll assess, service, repair, and maintain all types of bikes and eBikes, as well as upcycle bikes for donation. You’ll also help train others in bike maintenance, and support the planning and delivery of Active Travel events and partnerships.

The Active Travel Co-ordinator will make a difference to the health and wellbeing of people living in South Lanarkshire through enabling engagement with Active Travel (walking, cycling, and wheeling). We don’t require a university degree, but a qualification or great experience in community learning and engagement, or a similar relevant subject would be useful. We’ll support you with the technical training for the role, and hope you’ll then be able to support and train others- strengthening resilience in communities, growing skills for work and life, and setting people up for healthy lifestyles.
You’ll plan, develop, and deliver an exciting and comprehensive Active Travel offer, including our cycling and walking programmes, Active Travel Hubs, community engagement, and Active Travel events.
