Recovery and Resettlement Worker – Inverness

For the past nine years, Bethany Christian Trust have been delivering a community-based addiction recovery program in Scotland. As the demand for this service grows, we are looking for a candidate who will lead, develop and deliver Bethany’s Bridge to Freedom program within a group setting. A significant part of the role will also be to facilitate and develop recovery and resettlement work in partnership with churches and other organisations around Inverness.

It is essential that you have experience in facilitating, planning and working with vulnerable people in a community setting. A qualification in Social Work, Social Care, Community Education or related discipline is essential, or a willingness to work towards such a qualification.

As Bethany is a Christian organisation this post carries an Occupational Requirement in line with Equality Act 2010. Applicants should have and be able to evidence an active Christian faith and commitment.

Community Resettlement Worker (CSD West)

Bethany Christian Trust are looking for a Community Resettlement worker to support up to 10 tenants in the East End of Glasgow. The project provides support to individuals with tenancy sustainment, community engagement and the development of healthy social networks.

We are looking for a candidate who will deliver and continue to develop the service. A significant part of the role will be to facilitate life skills learning, both one-to-one and in a group work setting. This will involve the post holder creating and delivering structured resources as well as signposting on to other relevant support services.

The successful candidate will be organised and proactive with activities as well as maintaining ongoing relationships with our local church partner (Parkhead Nazarene and The Charter) and other organisations across the wider Glasgow area.

Grace House is looking for a Night Shift Worker who will maintain the therapeutic centre as a safe environment for residents as the only waking night shift worker, while promoting a caring environment through high standards of professional practice.

Your tasks include establishing and maintaining the general security of the building during night shift hours, in accordance with policies and procedures and accepted customs and practices, and, in the absence of a Project Worker, with ‘on-call’ management support, lead shift.

We are looking for Project Workers, who will work as part of a team seeking to meet the practical, emotional and spiritual needs of women with multiple complex needs. As part of a team you will ensure the smooth daily running of the therapeutic centre and help to create a safe supportive caring and empowering environment for service users.

Your main tasks include leading group work and supporting residents on a one-to-one basis. You will also provide appropriate emotional and practical support to service users assisting in budgeting, debt management, addiction support, household routines, arranging specific specialist help and liaising with other external agencies.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable and homeless people
  • Experience of working within a team and the ability to deal appropriately with challenging behaviour
  • AnSVQ3 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a Housing Support Worker, or willingness to work towards

We are looking for 2 Senior Project Workers who will assist the Manager in all aspects of organisation and delivery of the support service; including decisions related to staffing matters, such as recruitment, allocation of cases within the staff team and supervision of staff.

You will also provide appropriate emotional and practical support to service users assisting in budgeting, debt management, addiction support, household routines, arranging specific specialist help, liaising with other external agencies, and so forth.

Your other tasks involve assisting the manager with all aspects of office administration including financial management, Health & Safety, relevant risk assessments, legislative requirements, office management, vehicles, maintenance, monitoring and quality assurance and dealing with comments/ complaints about the service.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience of working in a residential social care environment
  • Experience of working with homeless and homeless women
  • Experience of working within and leading a team
  • Knowledge of current legislation regarding regulation of care and protection of vulnerable adults
  • An SVQ4 in Social Care, Promoting Independence or equivalent as listed by SSSC as appropriate for a Housing Support Worker, or willingness to work towards
