We have an exciting opportunity to join Aberlour on a job share basis, working alongside an existing experienced Assistant Director to help shape and deliver high quality care and support for children, young people and families across Moray and the Highlands. This is a key leadership role within an organisation committed to compassion, innovation and improving outcomes for those who need us most. There is an expectation as the external manager to undertake regular service visits.
As an experienced leader, you will work with strategic partners to design and deliver services and models of care that respond to local needs. You will oversee the leadership and management of our established services, including our registered disability residential and respite service, our community youth and family support service in Elgin, and our service for unaccompanied asylum seeking children in Inverness. You will also work closely with commissioners to identify future needs and opportunities for growth and development.
You will bring demonstrable management experience within social care in the public, private or voluntary sector. You will thrive on building strong relationships with commissioners, local government, NHS colleagues, third sector partners and trusts. You will be confident navigating tendering processes, analysing budgets and influencing local and national policy to improve outcomes for vulnerable children, young people and families. You will confidently lead Policy into practice, ensuring the principles of The Promise, UNCRC and GIRFEC are embedded across our services.
You will hold a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 9 or above, plus a management qualification at SCQF level 8 or above. More information about the role can be found on our website.

About the job share...
This is a 50/50 split job share arrangement, working 18.75 hours over 2.5 consecutive days per week. Preferred working days are Wednesday half day pm to Friday pm, with a structured handover built into the pattern to ensure continuity and shared leadership.
Each job share partner will:
• Hold full accountability for day to day operational decisions
• Share planned responsibilities such as audits, supervision and strategic tasks
• Contribute equally to leadership, planning and partnership work
• Share financial and budgetary oversight
• Contribute equally to growth and development of services across the geographical area
• Participate in national on call

Aberlour Options Moray is a community-based service for children/young people with learning disabilities offering residential, short breaks, family-based care and community support matched with the individual needs of every young person.
What we are looking for....
We have an opening for a Young People’s Worker working nightshift on a permanent basis. Usual hours would be 33.25 hours per week working 4 nights on 4 nights off rota. Shifts are from 10pm - 7.30am.
Individuals need to bring a range of qualities to the role including being playful, warm and accepting and must be able to adapt their practice to appropriately meet the varying individual needs of each young person. This role can be challenging but is also immensely rewarding and provides postholders with rich opportunities to develop their own practice and understanding of the needs of children and young people with disabilities.
You must be comfortable working in a culture based on respect, integrity, innovation and the ability to challenge - both yourself and other people. About Intensive Family Support Service
Our service supports families in the Dumfries and Galloway area who are struggling to cope. The families we work with may have a wide range of issues, which include drug and alcohol use within the family. As a Child and Family worker you would work directly with the whole family in various settings, such as their own homes, our dedicated base and other community locations.
You will be the trusted person they could talk about what they are going through at home. You whilst undertaking assessments to identify what support we can provide. You will work with the children and the family offering practical help, in the community, family home, liaising with partner agencies, schools and nurseries. Participate and lead group work sessions. Attending meetings, children’s hearings, school meetings & health appointments as required necessary. You will help establish routines and build life skills with families. Help families build parenting skills and confidence.
What we are looking for....
You should have a sound knowledge of child development and be able to work with parents either individually or in groups to develop their parenting skills & confidence.
We are looking to recruit a child and family worker to work 22.5 hours per week. An unsocial hours allowance is incorporated into the salary to support the requirement to be flexible with your approach and available to work weekends, evenings and public holiday to meet the needs of the families you will support. This post is offered on a temporary basis until 31st March 2027 however we are actively seeking funding to extend this further.
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about supporting young people, families and communities, who are flexible and share our vision that collaborative working and relationship based early intervention is the best option for young people and families who are feeling overwhelmed or excluded. This role involves daily travel to multiple locations across the region, which requires a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle. However, if you have a disability which precludes you from holding a driving licence, consideration will be given if alternative transport can be arranged.

About Options Fife Lochwood Park
Aberlour Options Fife - Lochwood Park service, based in Kingseat, is a forever home for one young man who has complex needs. Our service is a safe space for not only our young man but for his family to spend meaningful time. Although there can be challenging behaviour, it is the small steps of progress that this young person makes daily that makes our work meaningful. We are looking for someone to join our small team, who is a patient and understanding person. These are key skills for this role.
What we are looking for....
We are looking for a Young People’s Worker who will work 30 hours per week. You will work these hours as part of a residential rota including days, evenings, weekends and public holidays. Staff work on a 4-week rolling rota with 1 full weekend off, and a further Friday and Saturday off. Day staff can undertake occasional night cover and sleepovers, for which there is an additional sleepover payment of £67.
As a Young People’s Worker you will play a fundamental role in ensuring that our young person will have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives in line with their care plan, supporting them to progress within their individual outcomes. Whilst not without its challenges and demands, this is a highly rewarding role, where the work we do has a demonstrable impact on our young person's progress.
Using a person-centred approach, you will provide enabling support ensuring the highest level of physical, personal, and emotional care for our young person.
We are looking for candidates who have a passion with working with young people with disabilities. It is desired but not essential that candidates hold a relevant qualification at an SCQF level 7 or above. Due to SSSC requirements you will be required to gain qualifications after starting with Aberlour.

About Aberlour Options Fife – Glenrothes Continuing Care
At Aberlour we listen to understand what our young people want and need within our local area. As such, our Options Fife Continuing Care services in Glenrothes support young people with learning disabilities and/or autism to live and thrive within the local community.

As someone who has built up experience working in residential childcare, you will have the confidence to guide and direct the provision of care to the children and young people in the service. You will play a pivotal role, working in partnership with parents and families to meet the emotional and physical needs of children and young people with complex disabilities.
When on shift, you will play a lead role, mentoring and supporting staff and being a role model, delivering excellence in the services we provide. You will assist in assessing, planning and delivering services, taking responsibility for ensuring that assessment and interventions are prepared, monitored and evaluated.
Engaging positively with children, young people and families you will plan and implement appropriate support for the children and young people. Sensitive and accurate reporting is a key responsibility and so you will have good written communication skills and the ability to learn how to use effectively, Aberlour’s recording system: Dynamics.
This role offers the opportunity to consolidate and build on your experience combined with the ability to enhance your skills and knowledge through training, for example, in Dyadic Developmental Practice.
As part of the management team you will play an active role in ensuring that shift duties are delegated and completed in accordance with service guidance.
Senior Young People’s Workers will work a Residential Rota 2.5 x 12.5 hours shift direct care of their role on shift and 0.5 x 12.5 hours of their time working alongside the Service Manager on operational tasks and standardising practice. Overnight sleep ins are part of the role, alongside an awake member of night staff.

About Options Ayrshire
In addition to us having a short residential breaks service, our Out of School Club is based within 3 bases throughout South Ayrshire, however your main base will be Mosshill Industrial Estate.
We offer a safe, nurturing and explorative environment for young people to come and play either after school or on a Saturday morning that gives their families and/or carers a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with additional support needs. In addition to this, we run a busy Easter and summer Holiday Activity Club.

About Options Ayrshire
Our Service is a busy respite care unit for children and young people with additional support needs, including complex learning and physical disabilities. As well as providing short residential breaks the service offers outreach to families and is also involved in the managing and running of an after school club as well as a busy Easter and Summer play scheme.
Based in a quiet, residential street in Prestwick, our disability support service offers a safe, homely environment for a child to come and stay for a short break that gives their families a rest from their caring role. During that break, children enjoy a range of fun activities and experiences with our staff who specialise in taking care of children with disabilities. Our service is very much a ‘home from home’ for the children who stay with us there.
What we are looking for...
As a Young People’s Worker you will play a fundamental role in ensuring that the young people you work with have the best possible experience in working towards their objectives, in line with their care plan, supporting children to progress within their individual outcomes. If you have an interest in working with young people, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for a Young People’s Worker to work Wakened Night Shifts on a part time basis (averaging 30 hours per week). These hours will be worked as part of a two week rolling rota whereby you will work three shifts one week and two shifts the following. Shifts are 11 or 12 hours each.
Ideally, candidates will have social care experience, an understanding of autism, complex needs and disability. You will hold, or be willing to work towards, a relevant professional qualification at SCQF level 7 or above (for example: SVQ 3 in Care plus an HNC) together with relevant experience of working with children or young people. You must also be able to demonstrate awareness of the key elements of working with people affected by disability as well as an understanding of, and commitment to, young people’s rights.
