The Glasgow Alliance to End Homelessness
Charity registered in Scotland SC016293
In May 2019, Glasgow City Council issued a tender to establish an Alliance partnership which would work together with the Council to transform homelessness services. Understanding that ‘more of the same won’t do’, the Alliance partnership is an innovative approach, and a major shift from the traditional commissioner/provider relationship. The Glasgow Alliance to End Homelessness (GAEH) was established in February 2020. It sees organisations across the city leaving their own agendas behind and working together with shared responsibilities and a unified drive to make the changes that are necessary to improve outcomes and experiences for people at risk of or experiencing homelessness. We also hope to change negative perceptions of this population of Glasgow citizens. The Alliance is the first of its kind in the UK and brings together the Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP), third sector and independent organisations, and local people with personal experience of being homeless.
