Events & Membership Services Executive

The post of Events & Membership Services Executive will actively contribute to CECA Scotland’s success through supporting the day-to-day activities of fellow CECA Scotland colleagues.

This role will involve:

  • Promoting and organising training events for CECA Scotland members – both in person and online (via MS Teams)
  • Maintaining and developing CECA Scotland’s Events System
  • Organising CECA Scotland corporate events, such as our Annual Dinner & Awards, members Annual Golf Day, Scottish Civil Engineering Awards etc
  • Keeping abreast of areas that may impact on or be of interest to CECA members and keeping members informed of relevant issues and developments in various formats using various social media channels

The work of the Events & Membership Services Executive will be part of the foundation upon which CECA Scotland will continue to directly engage with member companies and build influence amongst key stakeholders.

Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Executive

The Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Executive will actively contribute to CECA Scotland’s success through supporting the day-to-day activities of fellow CECA Scotland colleagues.

This role will involve:

Keeping abreast of live policy and political developments in particular areas that may impact on or be of interest to CECA members and keeping members informed of relevant issues and developments in various formats using various media.

Engaging with key stakeholders, including the colleges involved in delivering the CECA Scotland Academy; CECA members; and our wider stakeholder community.

The work of the Public Affairs and Stakeholder Engagement Executive will be part of the foundation upon which CECA Scotland will continue to build influence amongst key stakeholders.

Post holders will be expected to work flexibly and be able to adjust and adapt to changing priorities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Undertake research, reading, monitoring, and other activities to keep abreast of and up to date with the changing policy, political, economic, social, and legislative environment that may impact on the work of CECA Scotland and its members and interested parties.
  2. Gather and present relevant evidence for consultations and inquiries and for making other submissions as required.
  3. Draft briefings for internal audiences and external audiences (including especially CECA members, politicians, and public officials) on public policy issues that fall within the scope of CECA Scotland priorities, as directed.
  4. To build and maintain constructive relationships with policy makers, politicians, regulators, and other relevant public, private and third sector organisations to effectively represent CECA members’ interests and influence change for the benefit of members.
  5. Draft content for communications, and in co-ordination with the Membership Services & Social Media Manager, organise photography and video in support of CECA Scotland communication activity.
  6. Experience of working with young people preferably in a school or college setting
  7. Knowledge of education, employment, training, and personal development opportunities that are available for young people.
  8. Can engage with and inspire young people as well as with their parents/carers.
  9. Support School or College Career Leaders to implement and enhance programmes that contribute towards CECA Scotland’s objectives.

Social Media & Public Affairs Manager

The Social Media and Public Affairs Manager will actively contribute to CECA Scotland’s success through supporting the day-to-day activities of fellow CECA Scotland colleagues.

This role will involve:

  • Delivering CECA Scotland’s PR and social media strategy, including daily communication with CECA members and our wider stakeholder community.
  • Keeping abreast of live policy and political developments in particular areas that may impact on or be of interest to CECA members and keeping members informed of relevant issues and developments in various formats using various media.
