The Society of St Vincent de Paul (Scotland) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Youth Development Co-ordinator to join our team and help drive our mission forward!

About Us

The Society of St Vincent de Paul (SSVP) is a global Catholic lay organisation dedicated to helping those in need through love, compassion, and understanding. Our mission goes beyond relieving immediate need; we work towards addressing the root causes of injustice. Our youth work includes initiatives like Mini Vinnies, Junior Vinnies, Senior Vinnies, and SSVP 1833, engaging young people from primary school to university.

About the Role

As the Youth Development Co-ordinator, you will:

  • Lead the promotion, development, and coordination of our youth programs across Scotland.
  • Collaborate with Diocesan Presidents, teachers, chaplains, and youth workers to grow and support initiatives like Mini Vinnies and Senior Vinnies.
  • Build relationships with schools, universities, and parishes to expand our presence and impact.
  • Develop exciting new projects like the SSVP Tutoring Club, initially in Glasgow, and support its growth across Scotland.
  • Implement social justice initiatives and inspire regular fundraising activities among young people.
  • Represent SSVP Scotland in education and youth networks, fostering collaboration and partnerships within the Catholic community and beyond.

What We Offer

  • A competitive salary based on experience.
  • Generous holiday entitlement: 25 days plus 10 public holidays.
  • Flexible working arrangements (4 or 5-day week options).
  • Employer pension contributions (3% of gross salary).
  • Opportunities to travel across Scotland and occasionally to the UK/Europe.
  • The chance to work with a supportive and mission-driven team.

  • Self-motivated and confident in working independently as well as leading a team.
  • Proficiency in creating and delivering engaging PowerPoint presentations.

Desirable:
