About SCOREscotland

We work in partnership with local organisations to tackle the root causes of racism and social exclusion. We provide vital support to families, children, and young people affected by racism, with a strong focus on minority ethnic communities.

Based in Wester Hailes, our small but dedicated team delivers community-based activities, outreach programmes, and opportunities that empower people to fully participate in local community life across South West Edinburgh and beyond.

We’re looking for new Non-Executive Directors to join our Board, with a particular focus on:

• People from minority ethnic communities living in Wester Hailes or surrounding areas;
• Young Black people (18+);
• People with lived experience of racism and social exclusion;
• Individuals who can contribute skills, experience, or insight in one or more of the following areas: fundraising and finance, child protection, risk management, human resources, community learning & development, marketing, communications and policy development. You do not need prior Board experience — support, training and guidance will be provided;
• We are particularly seeking a Treasurer.

About the Role of Board Members

As a Non-Executive Director (Board Member), you will:

• Help shape SCOREscotland’s strategic direction;
• Provide oversight, support, and constructive challenge to the Management Team;
• Ensure the organisation is well-governed, financially sustainable, and true to its values.

Board Members meet regularly (currently every two months) and work collectively to ensure the charity operates effectively and in line with Scottish charity law.

Health All Round is dedicated to enhancing the health and wellbeing of people living in South West Edinburgh. Our Action for Pain programme supports individuals with chronic pain by helping them better understand their condition and explore practical, effective strategies to manage and improve their symptoms.

This role will include assisting with the delivery of our lifestyle management course, providing one-to-one support to participants and supporting and coordinating volunteers.

About FOSS:Friends of Scottish Settlers (FOSS - SC050254) envisions a Falkirk District that is multicultural, multilingual, and welcoming, where local people, organisations, and services are equipped, supported, and willing to cultivate wellbeing, solidarity, community, curiosity, and respect among newcomers and longtime residents. Through befriending and other voluntary activities, FOSS enables newcomers to Falkirk District to build links and bridges with other locals, shaping and making use of the knowledge, networks and services we all need to live full, self-determined lives.

FOSS builds fruitful relationships through a culture of integrity, respect, solidarity, empowerment, and welcome. We began as an informal befriending project for resettled Syrian families in 2016, and, primarily through a befriending model, now engage a range of newcomers to Falkirk District including refugees and people in the asylum system. With partnership working, targeted activities and programmes, fundraising, advocacy, and good information, FOSS enables local volunteers and newcomers to strengthen and proliferate support networks within our communities. This also helps us to act constructively together in response to rapidly changing world events and policy that impact our lives.

About the role:

Purpose of the post: Experienced Volunteer Coordinator to train, support and grow FOSS’s Volunteer base, as well as coordinate and help produce procedures and resources necessary for Volunteer and Client safety and care. The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with other FOSS Staff to establish and monitor Befriending relationships; manage crisis situations and mitigate risk; oversee non-Befriending Volunteer roles like Material Needs delivery; as well as coordinate and maintain oversight of Volunteer-led activities and Volunteer support of asylum-seeking Clients accommodated in Falkirk’s asylum contingency accommodation. Introduction

Established in 1984 to eradicate all forms of discrimination under the Race Relations Act 1976, CSREC works across Central Scotland, including but not limited to, Clackmannanshire, Falkirk, and Stirling Council areas.

At CSREC, we aim to reduce the negative effects of inequality and marginalisation experienced by Minority Ethnic individuals, asylum seekers, and refugees across Central Scotland, enabling them to engage with the wider public to enhance community cohesion and prevent discrimination.

This job description and person specification act as a guide to the various responsibilities in relation to the position of Equality & Engagement Project Officer funded by The National Lottery Fund through their Improving Lives grant. Due to the on-going changes within the Third Sector these responsibilities may be occasionally amended in negotiation with the post holder. To deliver the key outcomes for The National Lottery Fund, following the three approaches: People-led, Strength-based, and Connected. This is vital to help CSREC empower communities and reduce inequality in Central Scotland. The main project activities include:
